MAP EF-series Turbochargers results thread
Lol thanks for your input on how I should spend my money. It's like you know what I want out of my evo more than I do.
And I never stated I was too lazy to downshift. Why would I downshift if I have a turbo setup that can efficiently spool enough in 5th gear to pass people? That's exactly what I was going for. Again, great observation and thank you for trying.

Awesome reply! I couldn't agree more.
You act like the 2.5 spools a TON better than the EF3. You are talking a bit more torque and only 200 RPM. lol. Seriously not going to be enough of a difference to warrant your justification. Personally an EF2 sounds more on your speed.
Also too lazy to down shift? seriously? Why do you even have an evo? Why don't you get an auto-diesel or something?

I'd be happy to send you an EVOScan log of my EF2 for you to compare with your EF2.5. It would be nice to find a similarly modded EF3 car to toss in the mix as well. Yea yea different cars different weather yadda yadda yadda but you would at have something.
Ef2.5 results so far.... 1 spools 25 psi @4000, 1 spools at 4100, and another at 4400. The avg non-ported shroud EF3 seems to spool around 4300 ish give or take. So I think its safe to say it's "about" 200 RPM faster. I stand by what I said before. If you are still on the "spool like an EF2 & FP Green" hype train still you are sadly mistaken.

I tried that before. No one wanted to compare and post up. I have multiple stock turbo log on pump gas @28 psi if you want to post up and compare. However mine is a non-mivec Evo 7 FYI. Let me know.

Got my EF3 installed this weekend along with some other go-fast parts. Previously at 330hp on a mustang dyno on the stock 8 turbo, but going to STM for tuning tomorrow. Hopefully I can report back with some promising gains tomorrow.
Just made it home from STM ... spent 6 hours driving to/from and another 8 hours actually at the STM facility. I'll post up some official data tomorrow, but I'm VERY happy with the EF3. I picked up almost 70whp on a Mustang Dyno at STM with the EF3.

I set it to 3 half turns. I will try to put up a virtual dyno of the preload before and after. Then I will go to 6 half turns preload and see how it spools.

So I am going to assume all the results we have seen thus far is with IMPROPER PRELOAD and possibly 18 psi WGA springs, not the 23's. I am going to guess that I can improve spool by 300+ RPM with proper preload. Will test and post results in this thread and my thread.
Send me your logs and I will run them in virtual dyno with SAE correction. Please send me the approx temperature and your barometric readings in your location.
