Defective turbo. Let go after a smooth 250 miles lol The turbine wheel is loose and just jiggling around all over the place. I never even got a chance to do any WOT on it. I was just cruising at 75mph on the long drive from Dallas to Baton Rouge, and around Shreveport it just let go. So whack.

You goddammed right it is. Brand new turbo, and it dies the first day. I'm not the happiest camper right now, but it happens. They're bound to have one come off the line every once in a while. I just happened to get that one. Kevin and MAP are taking care of getting me a new one ASAP. As long as everything gets taken care of, and my car gets fixed correctly, it will be okay.
Kevin shot me the video, last night, when I was walking out the door, last night...so I haven't had a chance to follow up with him quite yet...but I want to bring you, the end user, up to speed. It's hard to tell what is going on with that turbo for CERTAIN, but based on the videos, I believe the turbine shaft failed...which is unusual, to say the least...BUT I think the culprit MAY be compressor surge...I can't say for certain until we get the faulty turbo back in...but I would like to upgrade you to an anti-surge cover...totally free of charge, to give you the best possible outcome. I will be coordinating with our customer service staff to assemble a new turbo for you and get it out to Kevin ASAP. I apologize for the downtime this has caused you and please feel free to let us know if you have any concerns.

At least you have the right attitude. It sucks big time when it happens to you but nothing manufactured has a 100% no fail rate. It's going to happen. What matters is how the company handles it when you do have a problem. Sounds like MAP will take care of you.
I currently am waiting for my EF3 to come in and can't wait!

I absolutely understand, my friend...believe me...we are in this business because we are actually car guys...we don't have any desire to hold up your enjoyment of your project any more than necessary...and we will be taking care of this right away! I have currently wrapped up coordinating with Kevin so I think we are well underway in handling this
Thats crazy?!!?! My ef3 just took a dump on me. Ernt to go to do a monthly boost leak test and my car seem to be laggy, checked the wheel on turbo thing was all over the place in/out was crazy. I have video of it also. And mine maybe had 2k miles. I send mine off tomorrow. It sux taking that **** off. I used everything it came with. I never had a problem with MAP. I have there manifold and o2 dp eliminator. Also my last evo I had the older ef3. Never had a problem, but Chris/Junior say they got me. So I just gotta wait by. Grrrrr!
