Yeah, the Garrett core is a great core with reasonable pressure drop. With a MBC though, anything you can do to help reduce boost taper is worth a shot, IMO. Moving his wastegate source line to the upper intercooler pipe might help with the boost taper at the lower boost levels. Even at 20 psi, the car was dropping about 1.5 psi up top which is still a 20-25HP drop and correcting it would improve the overall powerband of the car up top. Probably won't change anything as far as maximum boost it can hold though.

Entirely possible, I did make an assumption given we have no Mustang dynos in NZ... though part of my assumption with it was that you'd read it for what I was trying to get at instead of taking it completely literally and maybe shed some light on how the dyno is able to give an idea of how quick the turbo responds.

How long would the runs have taken?

First and foremost, a Huge props to David and his shop for seriously for getting everything done in such a quick time. I’ve picked the car up and making a pit stop at home before heading to California tomorrow. The car will be getting a proper break in Saturday at the track in socal.

I’ve driven the car a bit and its smoooooooth. I can tell you I’m so excited as this car just purrs (well with the bf272 growls is more like it). The shake down run will be out at Streets of Willow for any of you west coasters (Saturday). It a serious relief to know that everything is just going to run and run great. I’m sure I’ll be doing data logging for those who are interested. Thanks to David and team I’ll be able to make my commitments at Buttonwillow the following week.

So Bottom Line.. Buschur Racing FTW!

P.S After seeing Davids car now i'm going to start my next build...( I have a problem I know)

You are welcome! Glad to hear you are happy with it so far. Just remember what I told you, the best you can hope for is a full event and no problems and that will just motivate you to fix it again and keep going! haha Best of luck to you, I am anxious to see how you do!

So it makes Boost later then originally posted and peak torque later then originally posted, and Buschur did his test in 4th...
In the end a dyno made this turbo look like gods gift to mankind. When in reality its not any better then offerings that have been available for quite some time.

Maybe it should be considered that there have been hardly any results (that I have seen) of a GT3076R HTA tested in full anger before, and realistically BOTH of these results are imho very very impressive - perhaps the EFR7670 result is awesome, and the gloss has been taken off it by the fact that the HTA can also do such numbers and really brings into focus how good a unit the FP is?

If a standard GT3076R was put into this mix, or a standard GT3582R for that matter - it may put things into perspective.

keep in mind more aggressive cams were swapped in in between dyno sessions so it's not a direct comparison.

I don't think the results of the EFR are bad by any stretch... it makes great power with good spool at low boost. The fact that it starts choking above that boost and isn't significantly better than the other available options doesn't mean its "crap" it just means the turbo isn't God's gift to boost. I think leet will be extremely happy with his setup.

It will be put back on the dynapak so you all have the complete picture. Same mods, same tune, no changes... just on the dynapak.
