Quick Update.

Car made 490whp / 440trq at 30lbs of boost. Car loves to be lean apparently but we dialed it back a bit to keep it safe. Car would have made 500+ without a problem at 33lbs or more. This little turbo moves some serious air.

Final graph we left at 30lbs and richened it up to 11.5 all the way across and finished with 480whp / 430trq Dyno Jet. Video and graph on a seperate thread will come later.

480/430 is nothing to be ashamed of with 11.5 up top.
Very impressive power, what's the shift recovery like? Instant?

To be honest Benja I dont have a lot of seat time with the car yet. We just changed the clutch out to a new Quartermaster and then the turbo with 400 miles on it suffered a bent shaft. Misassembly potentially from FP. It is going back to them today.

From the few pulls, yes instantaneous recovery. Its a great turbo when it was together. The wheels was rubbing on the compressor housing. :-(

Looking forward to getting in back together.

Theory around catch cans. FP believes vent to atmosphere catch cans like the stm set up lose too much pressure. Pressure that helps move oil to the turbo and if a feed line is being used potentially pressure that helps move oil back through the return line. I have the stm set up.
Strictly Modified says they have a definite correlaltion between stm style catch cans and fp turbo failures. I am going to put this turbo on the FP feed line and the STM pro -10 return line ti see uf that helps whike keeping the catch can. Time will tell what FP says. warranty that the car mus

my turbo made it literally one warm up cycle to bleed coolant and the shaft was bent. I never BOOSTED it once. Not once. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Never boosted my turbo and the shaft was cooked. I pulled all three fuses for the fuel and primed the car for a few seconds many times prior to this. He told me the housing caused it and I bought a 320$ housing from them + rebuild fees. I have an entirely stock PCV system.

How do you feel about the stock PCV system and the reliability factor on FP turbo. Also remember that the hta 71 does not have the steel bearing like all the other fp turbos. it has the stock type.

I do not think that this turbo would withstand much road racing. Its built with stock journal bearing type material and not an upgraded such as the green red black. Which area all BB now and eliminate that journal bearing stuff altogether.

I cannot wait to get the S2's installed and running. Ive been looking at so many S2 graphs that its just giving me anxiety thinking about them being out of stock and having to wait. haha..
