ill post a few thigns for you to get you motivated to fix your spool (which i know you can after you fix mechanical issue)

heres a fp green hta on 93 evo 9 stock cams:

heres a plot you wanted of the 71hta.. the 71hta i did was for a friend.
tuned it for free and the car had a rats nest for a maf wiring in it so it ran
into issues throughout, but got the plot here for you:

the 71hta log/plot is from a evo 8 also.. no mivec.

my advice to you.. target 12.5's at spool hold it as long as you can until it starts to reach higher boost levels.. taper it off fast and hold the line. the longer you hold the afr spool afr the quicker its going to spool. find proper balance in timing as well at spool.

yeah thats the type of boost curve im after. a nice flat line straight across instead of falling on its face. i think this turbo is really under rated/over looked.

both those cars are 3 ports / ecu boost. and yes the 71hta is WAY underrated. if you dig you will find Robert@ FP's car pushing it hard.. and it made insane curves on his 2.3L.

I'm working with the stock bcs for now if/when I switche back to ecu boost. And a .065 welding tip cut in half!

I will be taking the time to gain spool and cleaner afr in boost. I need to see Robert @ fp 's graphs !

yeah i saw roberts numbers, his motor was sucking up the air insanely fast being a 2.3 and he still hit 450 ft/lbs.

i received my fp18PSi WGA today, switched to a new IAT scaling, started retuning VE with the new IAT scaling. Picked up some spool, not perfected AFR. Starting to appreciate the idea of a leaner mixture because its running extra crisp now. WGA install tomorrow!

Are there really that many different versions of SD? I wish I could get a tuner to set up the entire program for me with the proper SD variation so I could just focus on getting used to the software and tuning the car. I've been following this thread pretty closely because I should have my 71HTA by the end of next week along with a few other mods. Thanks for all of your feedback on this quality little budget turbo that many seem to overlook!

There's 2 d and 3d. Donner said I have the wrong iat scaling in my 3d. He updated the Rom. My afr was way off after the change. I started by making a new fuel map and retuning ve to suit. I make my fuel map read my ideal afr, and tune ve to suit. It's pretty good at getting it within .1 -.3 then I make tiny fuel map adjustment if needed. SD is simple. If you need help tuning it there's more current help topics on SD than anything else. Do you have an 8 or 9 ?

I have a IX that has pretty much all the bolt-on's to let this little turbo shine. The main changes from this go around will be swapping in the 71HTA, MAP ver2 intake manifold + 70mm t/b, EPM o2 dump, and FP4R cams all swapping out the stock parts. (yes I even have a stock o2 housing still on the car). I'm used to tuning an SD style programmed car from my honda tuning days so it should be an easy adjustment. I just want to make sure I have all the current and correct versions of software to start off with that way I'm not retuning all the time even though that's the fun part of this whole thing!

Look in ecu flash forum for SD logging iat, donner uploaded my Rom with a better iat scaling, I still have to confirm the acurracy of that new scaling, but its there . I have a 9 . Might be a good place to start with that Rom. Check it out, make sure you have advanced setting from Mr Fred and ignition vs iat tables as this will cause you to not get correct timing result vs map under hot iat .
