It is ECU controlled boost as Faisal said

Im picking this car up soon. Im going to build the engine & head & some other misc things.

Im just waiting for the blue evo to leave my garage now :P Just have to install the upper pipe which the owner has at the moment then ill come get this one.

Having a white evo in my garage is gonna make me want to get a 2nd evo. white is my favorite color.

But that blue one is really nice also.

Some but not all. The torque isn't hitting the same as it would with a Green, which could easily be a disaster.

Ok put another way: I am coming from an Evo X...whose stock rods CAN'T hold that much torque...the typical tune limit is less than 400 awtq, my own was tuned at 382/387.

That's exactly correct.

The reason you got the answer you did, was because some cars have seen more abuse then others, have more mileage on them, and just in general more wear and tear.

A fresh engine with low miles that has not knocked much or detonated, and has never really been pushed, is going to last longer then something with high mileage that was tuned by someone and had seen maybe some excessive detonation or something might of happened that triggered wear like the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line maybe came off, and the car ran lean for a long enough period of time to get things hot and fatigue quicker.

If you have a block with unknown miles (miles you did not put on it yourself), i just target the torque around 380wtq and usually you never see problems.

you should be fine at 387wtq.

It also plays a roll based on how the power comes in also. The power band, etc. Also your driving habits will keep the engine alive longer as well. Don't load the car up at low RPM in 5th gear on the high way. Start your pulls at decent high RPM in 4-5th gear to keep the early tq from occurring.

Just little things like that help a lot with stock internals.

Stock Rods can handle 400FP's of torque no problem. If you ramped it up you could turn your rod into a Banana. Just get some Manly rods and pistons for cheap insurance. Stock rods even in a 4G3 will go.
