Its not new, but I think this is the first time the power loss has been documented.

It should be noted that this power loss would not occur with a properly functioning EGR system.

What you fellers need to do is be a man and drill/tap the EGR port on your head so the superheated gases don't still heat up your IM and thus your air charge .

Is this with removing/blocking egr valve only or also with blocking the gas recirc from the head?

I left the head alone.I blocked just im side. gas coming from the head can't enter the im anyway.

?

I think you're confused lol... look at the boost curve on the graph. It's identical with or without the EGR delete.

no you dont need a "tune" when removing EGR unless your on Speed density (My opinion) your maf will compensate for the difference in air flow. But you will need to a tune to remove all the CELs associated with the EGR removal. The purpose of the EGR is to recirculate Exhaust Gas back into the intake to reduce the formation of Nitrogen Oxides (For the Enviroment, Emissions etc.) The negative side of this is of course all that soot going back into your intake causing it to get VERY hot and there for lowering Air Density effecting power. Also in high boost scenarios that rubber line can pop off and cause a vacum leak. Removing all that crap helps keep temps down in the intake and also removes chances of a random vacum leak.

Havent really thought to look for it, but if yours was bad like this then yes since its a vacuum leak.

Same thing you have already ordered.

Properly functioning is less likely with higher mileage which is what I have noticed...it also leads to idle issues as it starts to gunk up the IAC and TB. Worst case is like the DSMs and it will eventually destroy the IAC once its started leaking 100% of the time.

Yes but this is far easier to do in an afternoon

these results will certainly sell some block off plates. lol

I have seen dyno results show just the opposite on dsm forums. this is an emissions device that recirculates exhaust gases back through the intake. "why would you do that?" for a more complete burn! cleaner emissions. results will vary on how rich or lean the tune is on the car.

Just picked a block off plate up, Can't wait to rip all that crap out along with the EVAP, less hoses = less opportunity for all my boost's to leak all over right?
