Why you need to do an EGR delete
So in blocking off the EGR (I plugged the head) What do I need to do with the solenoid? Can I remove it completely or does it need to stay plugged in? Does it sense Vacuum / pressure?
Just want to know what to do with the hardware while the engines out.

Pull it and put it in a spare parts box in case you need it for emissions.
i plugged mine at the port in the head with the NPT fitting. we'll see how it goes.

Not all cars are going to have an EGR that leaked as bad as this one. Some may not see big gains, some will. The fact that 1400-1500* air is making its way into the intake manifold thru a leaking EGR, the exhaust is diluting the fresh air, and contaminating the charge, would lead me to believe EVERY car will see a gain.
If its leaking
Also it seems that all of the ones above 85-90k miles that have come in leak to some degree.

So, has anyone tapped the EGR hole in the exhaust port for cylinder #4?
Was thinking that I could have my head guy use some aluminum to fill it up (much like a combustion chamber repair). Thoughts?

So I've seen a couple people say you don't need a tune and a couple say you do. If I have a completely stock Evo IX no tune or anything will I still be ok to take off the sensor and put the plate on the IM no problems? New to the platform and still learning before I start modding hardcore. Thanks guys!
