side mount subs?

i was looking thur some mags noticed that some people put there 10in sub on the side of the trunk. Like where people put the Akly kits in the left side of the trunk.
Is there any cons in doing that? like sound wise or anything?

Its only gonna sound as loud as a bazzoka woofer no matter the brand or power you throw at it. Plus its probably expensive to make or buy since its probably made of fiberglass.

I don't see how it would matter. This is how stock SSL systems are mounted.

all depends on the sub you buy and if the enclosure for the subs meets it specs for the speaker to produce Bass.... that will determine the sound you will get

the ssl sub is on the right toward the shock tower not in the very back.

subs DO sound great in those locations, the box has to be made correctly. if you want something that sounds even better, you can fire the sub toward the rear tail light and at a 30 degree angle toward the floor. if you are willing to give up another inch.

we charge around 400(more for box i was describing) to do what you want to do.

How much further back could it be?

I am going to replace my sub with a custom box. I just need to come up with something that maximizes trunk space but will allow me to use a rear strut bar. I am only going to use one ten. Here is the stock sub.
