Viper Spare key question! help!

Hey guys i have an 05 viii and am about to have a viper auto start installed. you usually need a spare key for the ignition for the install. can i just go to home depot and have a second key made or do i need to get the chipped on from the dealership? thanks guys.

you need the key to be programed its the radio signal in the chip that tells your car its ok to turn on you can usually buy modules that cann remember the code so no spare key

yeah, they should have a module for it. i havent seen them need a key in a long time

Directed electronics has a module that allows you to keep your keys and not have to install one in the car as part of the alarm. my shop carries them if you like we can sell u one.

unfortunatly the evo does need to lose a key, they dont make a box for our cars that im aware of.. I had to use a 556U

You can program a PKALL and not lose a key.

Does that pkall work for mitsubishi it doesn't include them in the description

The two options are to get custom firmware for the pkall, use the tbxkey or 556uw. The easiest is to use tbxkey. You will lose a key with either.

I personally have not used a pkall in mine, but some crazy guru on directechs said he manged to get his working.

or u can disable your immobilzer and not need it just have an alarm built in with starter kill. seriously.. saves you $$!
