Test pipe vs. Hi-flow

The winner is test pipe. I had a random tech hi-flow for a few months now. I just had my new UR test pipe installed and I like it much more. I didn;t think I would be able to realize the power difference, but I could. The sound is a lot depper as well. No cel as of now. So overall very happy as others with this test pipe also seem to be. I give it a perfect 10

of course a test pipe is going to be a little better than high flow cat your going from a small amount of resistance to basically none.

On cars around the ~350whp level on a DJ that have been tuned before and after, the difference appears to be 10-15hp.

On cars without the benefit of dyno tuning, the difference may be less (depending on the present A/F), and somewhat less of a power difference should be expected for cars at lower power levels.

I can confirm from personal experiance a 10 HP drop (at the same boost pressure) going from a test pipe to a high flow cat on a Dyno Dynamics dynometer. The A/F ratio's didn't change at all, but I did lose 1 psi of boost until I adjusted the boost contoler up a bit.

well I wasn't so lucky. I installe my BR 3" downpipe, testpipe, and catback and after about 20 miles of driving I got a check engine light. I guess I'm gonna have to install the 02 simulator.

We used the wires to extend them. evo81 extended his with the Helix test pipe and the wires melted because they were so close.

Actually there is resistance in the form of friction so it isn't none..however you would have a difficult time measuring it.
