The parts just aren't coming in to spec, they are building the wrong parts.

Hey Dave, would this setup make more power with a larger compressor cover like comes on a stock 20G?

Ok, I remember back in teh DSM dassy of the 16G, 20G upgrade turbos. I remember that you need a Bigger 02 housing or port the stocker to keep Creep at bay, BUT if you tried to use a 20G with an Internal gate, you would get creep, what makes this situation different?

Twin scroll turbo with two wastgate ports gives a heck of a lot of bypass flow compared to a single wastgate port.

Ok, If I send him my stock turbo, he sends me back a 20g upgraded turbo for 1240, right?
If I buy the 20g upgraded, it costs 1540, right?

I basically have everything except the injectors of a stage 4 (except FMIC).

So, to do this, I would need to:
1) send turbo to The Man
2) put turbo The Man sends me in.
3) put 680cc injectors in.
4) have Al re-tune my car.
5) Enjoy.

could we expect any more gain or reliability with a standalone ems?

Not sure if the turbo will make more power with a larger cover, it is something we will have to look into if the turbo comes up short on what we think it should make.

The turbo should not have a problem with any boost creep or need an external gate as the turbine housing on the EVO has twin ports for the wastegate, making it extremely efficient.

We will be testing the turbo on the RS as soon as we get one built.

The cost to upgrade your stock turbo to the 20g is going to be around $840, not $1240.

Expect atleast 20 more WHP then a flash, better spool, and more boost on pump gas. Teh EMS is just a better system, Speed Density kicks ***, it gets rid of a MASSIVE restriction that is the MAF.

I see a super stealth 400 whp package from this turbo, I also think it might just hit that on pump gas, we'll have to see.

I have some stock EVO intercoolers here too if you still need one.

400 whp from a daily driven turbo charged 2 litre inline four performance "family" sedan distributed through an awd drive train, that's all.... seriously guys if I would have read this about 5 years ago I would have pissed myself laughing. Btw, not to take credit from the DSM guys who have been doing this for many years now

Is this true for the 03 Evo's? SO I can get a 20g, 10.5 Hotside, and Titanium Wheels? This would be great, and I simply COULD NOT refuse. Now, do we need to port the manny or wwill a tubular manifold help out much? What about a better 02 housing by Helix? My main concern is the spoolup. Also how would you compair this turbo to a 50TRIM, say a FP Green?

Finally, a better FMIC and bigger injectors and a flash I hope can make 400WHP, taht would be king and save me about $4000 in parts.
