I WILL HAVE A TRUE PRODUCTION REAL DEAL REVERSE SCROLL 20G COMPRESSOR WHEEL and turbo at the track on Friday for our Showdown.

The turbo will not be built and complete until Thursday. It is suppose to then be overnighted to me at the track while I am out there!

I still have high hopes. Maybe a perfectly built one is going to shine. With some of the external wastegate testing and such we have been doing on the car it will be interesting to see if we can make this turbo work really well now.

I still think the way the old wheel was machined is what was killing it.

I also think the EVO twin scroll turbo is so superior to the old TD05H turbo that I tested that it isn't much of a comparison.

We will see.

sorry but its been awhile since I looked at this thread and forgot what the numbers this turbo is capable of. I need to refresh my memory a bit... so how much more power can we expect to see from the 20g. If this works out what hp increase can we see from this turbo?

The 20G wheels we had CNC'd fell way short of what the stock turbo could make. We then tested a true 20G turbo from the DSM's on one of our cast manifolds we use on our turbo kits. The turbo was laggy although peak power could be duplicated.

I am hoping using the EVO manifold and twin scroll design this correct wheel is not going to have the severe lag the old DSM turbo did on the EVO.

The 20G wheel at 25-27 psi peak boost and race gas has made 446 on DSM's. This is the same thing I am hoping for on the EVO when we get the combination correct.

hmmm.... i thought i'd been following very closely but i guess i missed tha part where you guys tested the dsm 20g and found it laggy. now i'm not quite sure what to think... why would it be laggy? should be same turbo and everything right? and what would make this cast wheel any better? the old 20g on the dsms didn't have to use a twin scroll... is this one of those things where mitsu already did their hw aGAIN but this time someone already maxed out the stock turbo? this is all getting very bizzare.

I am doing some datalogging on the car, this is how I am going to compare this turbo to the stock one. This new 20g is beautiful, looks like a stock Mitsubishi wheel in it.

Quick questions regarding your mail in flash: The revlimit is set for 8500 as a default setting on your mail in flash. Are you recommending upgraded valve springs/retainers for the 4g to rev that high? Also I'm assuming you can set the RPM limit lower.

Thanks!
Jeff
