Is it a v-band setup for the downpipe? Do you know what gauge material this mainfold is made of? Again, it looks awesome.

Talking

I am not sure as to any manufacturing specs, but just drop Tyms shop an email or call. I have not yet rapped with Tym on what he has planned for the DP, but I trust him and his ideas for fabrication. He may already have it done. I cannot wait for spring!

I've always heard that really long headers are meant for lots of high end hp

Absolutely not. Longer primaries are used for spatial and clearance considerations (as depicted in the above photo). You want them to be as short as possible for a pulse tuned turbo app.

Thumbs up

Hey manOfaith, yeah my best friend just built a house in Macomb, and I have my eye on a lot off of 23 and Heindrick. Maybe we can meet up with mattgold and cruise hall road with our evo's. Hey did you check out that white evo on www.switzerperformanceinnovation.com? That belongs to one of my friends who will be out this year with us.

PM me when you do! I'm in! I'll probably be near Hall Rd tomorrow to install my exhaust at a friends house. I wanna check out you setup! Freaking cool. I'm in Detroit, but go around Sterling Heights alot...I hardly see many red Evos. I'll probably hear your car coming though.

evoviiiyou, rsboy For sure, good to see some local evo owners. I check out that website for the first time....that evo is sick. Is a local guy? I met Matt this past year over at Payn. He's kool. I on Heyd. btwn 21 & 22. Its a nice area that is getting built up pretty quick. A good investment if anything.

Ted, isn't this only applicable to twin scroll turbos?

No, it makes no difference. Shorter runners = hotter exhaust pulses into the turbo = quicker spooling and faster response.

The advantage of the twin scroll design lies in the fact that less energy is lost per pulse because emptying the primaries into two smaller collectors is more efficient as opposed to one large one. The reduced collector volume does a better job of preserving primary pulse energy in making the transition from the primary into the turbo housing, which results in better spool characteristics.
