Good point. I guess I just wanted something different. Unless we try new thingsI guess we cannot make progress. I will post the dyno #'s when I get them. It will be interesting.

I wouldn't be too worried about Tym's design and implementation ideas as being "experimental". This is the same guy that made 821whp on a DSM WITHOUT nitrous.

Yeah, I fully trust him and his workmanship. I just wanted to share the info. Wow I did not know that he made that much power. That is incredible.

I wouldn't be especially concerned about it. The nominally longer runners shouldn't really hamper peak power anyway. If anything, longer runners would soften the tip-in boost response, which obviously won't show up on a dyno sheet anyway.

I'm learning so much from this site. Hopefully all the advice can help others as much as it is educating me. Thankyou all.

very nice setup! As far as exhaust runner length on Subaru and the 4g63, I believe the stroke may play a factor in the spool up time, more so than the exhaust runner length... longer stroke on the 4g63, intake manifold design, cams, head design etc all play a roll.

No, the stroke length makes no difference where runner length is concerned. The overall displacement and int/exh head flow characteristics however affect optimum port/runner size.

I think the concept is good, since heat rises - the exhaust gas velocity shouldn't drop too much

Nice setup, I would be interested to see some dyno numbers once you get her installed and tuned.

That's true and good to know...when you're roasting marshmallows over a hood vent.

In actuality, whatever difference there may be in such an instance would probably not be something quantifiable on a dyno.

Anymore input on this set up so far:

Bennifits:heat evactuation (at speed), unnoticable exhaust velocity loss(turbo spool), looks good, top end power and marshmellow roasting

Negatives: inefficient tube material(slow down velocity of exhuast gas), not proven to produce added performance

I can't wait to see some of the cars Tyms shop puts out. He definately does some sick work.

We have a customer with a similar designed header. That collector in that picture looks like it is more efficient just by first impression than the one this local has.
