Boosting too low

Hey guys. Well Im pretty much a newbie when it comes to performance turbo cars. But not NA performance cars. I've owned an 02 NSX cpe man. & prior to that a Mugened-out 97 Integra Type-R . (220 whp )

Anyhow, I just recently purchased myself an 05 Evo MR. Now being new to turbos I have a problem that I could use some help with. And yes, I've searched.

Now I added an MBC. Hallman Pro to be exact. Car was flashed @ 21 psi w/ stock exhaust. It was boosting fine for weeks. Now its about the 5th week or so & I've finally checked it again. (BTW I've checked the boost about 3x in between). Now its peaks at 1.2-1.24 bar or 17.41-17.6 -ish psi. Am I having some kind of leak? Stock BOV? Now as I stated Im totally new to this turbo stuff. I checked the boost controller and turned it up all the way until it couldnt turn anymore...pretty much the same results..So just to be safe I turned it down a turn and some more...

Should I just get it checked out at a perf. shop? Or should I also get an aftermarket BOV in case. I was told the HKS ssq?? Might be wrong on that...I've told it was great & Im going the HKS route anyhow.

Thanks & any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome me to the club too!!!

Most likely you have a leak somewhere. You could have more serious problems but a leak is by far the most probable.

Are the boost or vacuum lines to the boost control solinoid conected to the MBC? If they are, they are not suppost to be.

Hmm..That's something I'll definitely keep in mind. It just that I've heard of lots of guys running this mbc & have had no problems so I got this one.

Thanks

My hallman MBC works perfect, many of them do. You probably have a boost leak somewhere. Many of us have found the clamps on the IC piping to be not as tight as they should be from the factory. I suggest tightening all of them first, before you go out and spend money on other parts like an ebc or bov.
