We also blew an engine by using a new fuel that required a different tune then we were using. Also, if you've read the many posts in this thread you'll realize that I could give a sh*t about peak horspower numbers. If that were the case I would have stuck a GT45r on the car, saved a lot of money, and had just another high HP drag only car. This was not my goal. Do you remember how long it took for Buschur, Vishnu, and AMS to develop their turbo kits? Like them, we started from scratch with a new idea which takes time and money.

I post on this forum because I enjoy sharing information about my project and enjoy reading about the projects of others on this board. I have a great deal of respect for the accomplishments of many EVOM participants. People like you p i s s me off. Do me a favor and check out of my thread.

Slow down man im glad your doing something new that nobody else has done im just saying from what i read 40psi at 5000 rpm you should be at 800whp thats all im trying to say. Do what you got to do i want to see some numbers thats all. You cant build or do anything if you put your mind to it. But numbers and stats count more then the bling factor.

You really have to be one of the dumbest people on the board.

dude jmartinez , you ALWAYS have noting positive to say. THis guy has a very nice setup, and to you if this car doesnt make the highest whp ever you think its worthless...well theres alot more factors to a fast car then just high horsepower. Not everyone is a dyno queen

*whew* what a read! I gotta give props to 3240 for dreaming up this project and making it a reality! I'll definitely be checking back to see the status of the car and the power it produces.

3240 well im very jealous! but i thinks its a great project as you know!

so back to the intercooler, do you run the AC all the time or just in bursts????

oh and the idea of running safe toque and letting the revs do the rest is a very good idea!!! also will reduce the chance of blowing the trny sky high to! have you thought about limitng boost in certain points of the RPM band to run a lat torque curve (say 600lbs ft)???

Chris.

PS any news on the server????

Holy showing of money batman, nice project. Pray nothing breaks or you don't wreck it or someone doesn't hit you. I would seriously cry for the rest of my life if that was my car and that happened.

This will be the first successfully twin charged EVO. Its not neccessarily about raw hp numbers. Some people are such idiots.

I'll be on the road until the end of the week. Dyno charts will be posted by Friday or Saturday, earlier if I can get back to my computer.

In summary, here's my predication:

1. We will see 750 awhp or slightly more because we have decided to stop here for now as I'd like to have some fun racing it before we push for higher peak HP numbers.

2. The power curve will be unlike any other 750+awhp Evo.

3. The torque will be the max amount that we feel safe generating (record breaking???) but will not drop off as the revs increase.

4. MOST IMPORTANT - The numbers and curve will be almost the same at altitude (Denver) as they are at sea level due to the flexibilty of the twin charge system.

5. Once I have some fun racing we will max out the turbo and go for peak HP numbers.

6. This winter we move on to a GT45r.

I really appreciate everyones interest and support. It's made the project a lot of fun. I'm flying to Philly next week and hope to hit the track.

This is Bert (the one tuning the super twin).

Actually the torque will drop off as rpms increase, depending on what "phase" of the project we are at.

What John means about flat torque is that I'm going to tune for our first hp goal, via a conservative method and so will raise the torque at high rpm until I achieve it, this will net a pretty flat torque line. (Rather than running a flat boost curve)

In the begining stages we will be somewhat conservative and try to limit it to a certain "moderate" level of torque and so the torque will be flat probably.(Via a boost ramp) At some point we will reach the flow capability of the turbo (hp) and so we will increase the mid range torque and trend to a more "flat" hp curve".

At high altitude there will always be some hp loss, it's just that the twin charger set-up let's us spool a larger turbo than otherwise as well as stay out of surge easier.

The interesting thing could be to see how much torque can be made, vs how much can one of these engines take. I think the big boys have made 610 ft-lbs (Dynojet). But that may have been limited by the spool up characteristics of gt42's? However, perhaps these engines cannot withstand much more than that anyway?

Regardless, we are all piontlessly crazy and having fun with it. I trust it provides some entertainement.

The funny thing is since I like driivng rally cars better, we may as well just bolt the engine to an engine-dyno and not bother dragging it !!!! LOL

As far as I'm concerned the purpose of the Supertwin was too have a fast car (not the fastest) that would always be interesting. However the progress of these engines (AMS,Buschur and others) has been amazing. I really never envisioned maxing out GT42 and similiarly sized turbos....but here we go........!

If anyone can post max torque figures they have seen for these engines that would be helpful. Please reference what Dynomometer it was measured on.

Thanks.
