Super charger/ Turbo pics
I flew to Philly this week on business but also with the hopes of running the car. On Monday we went to the dyno but the dyno crapped out at about 620 awhp (uncorrected). We were only able to crank the boost up to about 32-33 psi before this happened. Even though I was dissapointed we decided to go to Atco on Tuesday night just to have some fun.
I've never driven this car before except for about 5 minutes on the street. We were running 18" wheels with street tires. Full interior, etc., etc. We were also only making about 32-33 psi of boost (roughly 620+whp). This car has never been driven on the track before with this setup. Here are the results:
1st run:
I was trying to figure out the launch and bogged badly. High rpms are not needed on launch because of the supercharger.
60' 1.909
330' 5.102
1/8 7.633
MPH 98.32
1000' 9.784
1/4 11.543
MPH 128.90
2nd run: The launch control was set for 5,000 rpms and I slipped the clutch.
60' 1.662
330 4.651
1/8 7.105
MPH 99.11
1000' 9.18
1/4 10.909
MPH 128.35
3rd run: Another good one.
60' 1.674
330 4.67
1/8 7.117
MPH 99.4
1000 9.203
1/4 10.945
MPH 129.69
It turned out to be a really fun night. Two back to back 10.9 second passes on a car that I've never driven with a tune that isn't even close to its potential.
The amazing part is the fact that we didn't have one single problem. The car ran flawlessly. The power curve is incredible and the car is so easy to drive.
On Thursday we're hitting the Mustang dyno at AWE. Hopefully we'll finally finish tuning and hit boost levels of 42+psi. There is no doubt in my mind after driving this car that we'll see 750+whp and a 9 second run.

Awesome!
Congrats!
The dyno @ AWE is a very nice set up; not sure if Mike's still there, but he and Todd are very nice guys - will you be there this Thursday too? Or just Bert, Todd, etc....

The best part is the ar conditioning and radio still work!
The bad part is how much does it weigh?
I'll put the supertwin on the scales today and find out how much it weighs!
John thanks for doing this project with me . I still can't wait to throw this car into some large radius power slide though!

It was great to meet you. Next time I'm in town I'll send you a PM and we'll meet up at the track.
Also, you're right about the weight. We've done nothing about weight reduction and we'll take you up sometime on your offer to help. Take care.

I'm going to try to make it to the dyno late afternoon if possible. I have a meeting in Philly that ends at about 2:30 pm and hope to head over to AWE afterwards.

Nice to finally see this car come together. I hope you can make a video so the rest of us that don't live so close to the track can enjoy your excitement
Congrats on your times!
