Build an Evo that will shut everybody's trap. One that will leave people scratching their heads and recounting the money they wasted on their "super" cars. And just to rub it in, make it very evident in the form of trunk demarcation that you are driving a 2L, 4cyl.

Bottom line is we could all type up what we are doing and it makes so little difference it wouldn't hurt anything. It's like a guy asking me what turbo I run on my tube car, he must think that is what makes the car fast when it actually has so little to do with the entire combination.

I, like most others, are always on a budget. We scrimp and save to spend money on our cars because that is our passion. Many of us follow a staged progression to reach our ultimate goal, whatever that may be. You have been a leader in showing people how to gradually and methodically improve the performance of our cars.

What I'm trying to say is, you've already proven yourself as a "buyer friendly tuner and manufacturer". What would cement your position as Mitsubishi Guru would be to produce the best car you can assemble. Show the naysayers that you and your company, with all constraints removed, can compete with anyone in the country. To build a car that can do O.K. in all areas, but fails to excell in any one, would be a disservice to you and your abilities. Who wants an (*) by their second or third place finish?

I say give 'em hell David!

Pump gas is crap. If you have to run 93 this looks like a chance to put a BR 440 to good use since the car has to be trackable.

go smart

Dave As You Know I Have Raced Bikes Ever Since I Was 6 (now 34)
It Doesnt Take Big Horses To Win In This Challenge. 400 To 450
Is Power Enough. You Need To Have Your Car Dialed In Shocks, and Tires
Being To Most Important. So As To Have Your Driver Push To Car Deep
Into The Apex Of A Corner, And Still Being Able To Not Lose Any Boost, And Not Up Set The Chass. You Have The Tuning And Motor Skills So Thinking
Out Of The Box Of Drag Racing Is Reliablily And Handling.

Wish You The Best Of Luck And We're All Are Pulling For The White Rs

I personally would like to see what an all out Evo would do.

The key to great power on Pump gas without N2O or alcohol injection is simple.... displacement! I know you are personally a fan of 10,000 RPM 2.0 liter motors, but on pump gas and reasonable boost pressures you will get more area under the curve with a 8,000 RPM redline and a full 2.4 liter setup. You need to experiment with a 2.4 liter to see wich turbo kit you sell is the best match on pump gas. I suspect the BR 500 with the ball bearing center section on a 2.4 liter would spool like the stock turbo on a 2.0 engine.... but nobody I know has actually done any testing to show this. Do the testing, and keep the results behind closed doors until after the event is over... and if you crash the hard drive save it

Not just tuned, but they're coming with a forced induction Elise.

David,

I'd say go for the win. According to the competition, it appears they're not going for the budget build. I think Vishnu's EVO came lightly modded in the Super Four challenge 2 years ago. It didn't win, and they didn't make a name for themselves until they went "all out" on their Red EVO for One Lap and last year's SuperTuner.

Buschur customer saying go for the win!

If you were competing against V8's and Vipers I'd say go budget-build because there's very little chance of beating them at their own game (1/4 mile--track--up to 150--150-0 braking). You could show what an economy-minded Evo build would do against a big-dollar, say, Lingenfelter Vette build. It would be "kudos" points.

But since you're competing against your direct competition, you can and must win to get the attention. There's plenty of information on your website about what typical Stage 1 cars, or Stage 4 cars, or whatever can do. Since your goal is to sell parts, what you have to do is turn heads to get them to your website.

My opinion. Good luck!

Go all the way...... The only thing people will really remember is an Evo that beat the large displacement super cars. I was simply amazed at how well the Vishnu Evo did the in the super car shootout last year. Can you run a car on a budget build when Vishnu is going all out? Good luck with everything....

I'm well aware of the performance of your very economical staged upgrades. I'd like to see you push the EVO to it's limits in competition. Build it and they will come!

2.4 and a GT35R tuned to run on 93 octane and Methane/alcohol injection. You will KILL the comp if you do this.

Did you miss the part where he said you CAN'T use alcohol injection?
