Brakes and rubber are the most important on a roadcourse. He needs to upgrade the brakes so he can compete with the other big boys.

I don't see anyone bringing a 600+ hp car to this event. Remember these are 4 cylinder cars only. Everyone is also limited to 93 OCTANE fuel. That is the limiting factor for this event as far as I am concerned.

They might not have one but if you can make one and do it by the rules then do it.

David, what about getting all your stuff done then getting a reflash from Al? That would help promote his business more too. I understand the problem with a flash is its only tuned for 'one day.' but you can also run a s-afc can't you? I know you can't control timing but atleast you can have some other tuning ability when you get to the track, or is that not allowed either?

What are you talking about it only being tuned for "one day"? It doesn't magicly reflash itself back to stock at midnight like Cinderella's pumpkin coach

What I mean by one day is it is specifically tuned for the conditions of the day it got tuned on. I know it doesn't go back I'm on my 2nd flash from Al.
To me be elaborate. If you get your car flashed on a 30degree day with 0 humidity. You get your timing and air fuel ratio set for those particular conditions. Now if he were to go try and race the car after that but its 90deg and 80% humidity you now have different air temps and such that would effect the way the car runs.

ldstang50,

You do not have to reflash the computer as you are thinking that you do. The computer is very adaptive and will compensate for alititude and weather changes. The only time you need to reflash is for modification changes.

I will be using the AEM EMS on the car.

Thanks David. I was under the wrong impression, but nothing beats the EMS

there is one reason i voted the way i did... and i'll say it explicitly because car and driver also introduced this to me. lingenfelter. there is no other company on earth that i would trust a c6 zo6 to. it's tru... they're expensive... but it's also true that they make the baddest *** lt1 lt4 ls1 ls2 ls6 and prolly ls7 powered fastest track monsters ever... this is obviously because they won the supercar challenge a for a few years :]

Suspension, tires, wheels and a few other goodies showed up. Back on the dyno today oh sheeeet I am excited about this new round of testing. This car is going to be so wicked.........(typing with a sheeet eating grin on my face).

Wheels look good, so much rubber!! The new tires are so wide that the big weight savings I was hoping for didn't happen, only 1.5 pounds lighter per corner.

Stay tuned for some good stuff today.....

Hey Dave,

I went to get a haircut yesterday and lo and behold they had the C & D Supertuner shootout mag there. While I was waiting I re-read the article very thoroughly...
Anyway I had some thoughts...

Quality of ride and exhaust noise are two things that the editors seem very picky about...
They penalized loud cars 10 SECS on the overall road course!!! They never mentioned if they actually penalized the Evo or not, but my guess is from how much B$@CHED about it's loud exhaust and crappy 3 star ride is that they did. If they did a 10 secs taken away from their 1'05 (approx time) would have put the Evo in contention to take the Viper that won the unlimited class! The Evo should have had the best overall time!

If you hit the 400whp goal along with great driveabilty, you will win hands down!! After all they mentioned that the 4banger convention had a highest hp of around 400Hp. Also make sure you have them show the difference or at least mention that your HP is TO THE GROUND, and flywheel HP is really "X". Most readers dont realize that.

hope that helped!
