At the end of the day I would opt for the tuner that is most accessible to me for custom tuning, whether it means going to them or them coming to a shop near me. Generic maps and/or ECU reflashes are never as good as a custom tune.
Well said.

That's pretty much it as far as how far you can go with the stock turbo while retaining good reliability. Of course, i think the best add-on for the Stg 1+ is going for the XEDE option (instead of the XFlash) and having a race gas map loaded into the secondary map bank. An safe extra 30-40bhp at the flip of a switch Not to mention the soon-to-be-released road dyno software and few other nifty tuning aids (all built in to the XEDE software) for those who either want to tinker themselves or want to make sure that we did our job right with the baseline mapping.

Hope that helps,
Shiv
Cool, that helps a little bit, also would you ever be around the area for you to do any tuning? I would like to have you do it

IE EVO,

Alky and Methanol injection are not in our Stages 1-4 or any of our staged upgrade packages. This is an independent choice for some guys who want high boost and to run pump gas too. Run the right alky, do periodical checks on the pump pressure and I see no problems or safety issues with the kits.

Florida, we have no guys down there that we recommend for tuning and such. Our flash works extremely well through the mail for our stages. The reason they do is the consistancy of our parts and the packages. Doing a flash through the mail when you have a wide variety of parts on the car from many different companies makes it harder to get the tune right on. With our Stages we have a flash for what WE build and OUR combination, makes it easy to do the tune and get it right.

I do my own work as well as work on 4 other local evos. If you need help installing any mods on your evo send me a pm for my cell #. I prefer Buschur parts though. My tuning was done out of state cuz i have an AEM.

If you go the Exact Buschur path, we can send him your ECU to be flashed but only for HIS parts.

I remember pm'ing you a couple times. I live in Pasco down the street from you.

I voted for the exact setup I have, which doesn't seem to be very popular... The Vishnu Stage 1+ with the Buschur exhaust.

For me, this has been an absolutely flawless setup for 15 months now. The drivetrain has had exactly 1 problem in 15 months, when I blew the upper I/C hose right off the throttle body under boost (my fault for not clamping it tight enough). That took me exactly 3 minutes to fix.

I'm also with jfh, access to an experienced tuner is very very nice to have. Shiv spent close to two hours on my car (30 dyno pulls), first sorting out boost issues and then giving me both a street fuel map and a race fuel map. I have not had to touch either map in 15 months; they work great.

I'm sure that Buschur can provide a great solution as well; but Vishnu did a wonderful job for me. Shiv didn't even make any snide remarks about seeing the Buschur exhaust on my car...
