Ask me if I like my new turbo... I like, it's just plain bad ***
While I'm not happy about the recent price reduction on the WR, it does seem to work well on the street. I have half the boost taper that I used to (MAP sensor datalogs) and spool-up seems at least as good as stock.

I wonder who is going to get the "pounding" now

shiv
I'm sure it was simply an oversight that can easily be cleared up with the SAE corrected version of the same two dyno graphs. Unfortunately my butt is raw as a result of it

For the guy that seemed bummed about tuning in 111F heat, don't worry! If you get you results in SAE corrected form the temp correction makes everything equal. However, the SAE correction does not and can not correct for the slower spool up you see in the summer compared to the winter, everyone has felt that feeling I'm talking about - first cool morning in months, on your way to work when suddenly it dawns on you, damn the car is coming on good today.

On FP's site they said they would be giving everyone refunds to the $1175 level.

1550-1175=$375. I already left a message with Robert.

I have noticed a more radical spool-up than my TME... Maybe the AEM helps.

Cant wait for the day when we can get a 20g or a 50 trim bolt on for around 700$ just like the rest of the DSM's.But I guess thats what you get when you have 15 years of R&D.One day

We do have something for the guys that bought the first wave of units, but the website does not say that "everyone gets refunds". That would be nice, but it isn't possible. The price reduction is possible because of cost reductions on parts that have just arrived that we are using to build additional turbos with. Units from here on out have a lower cost to produce, therefore a lower cost to consumer. Earlier units had a much higher cost to produce and had to be priced accordingly. With MHIA and part pricing, you never really know what to expect. These prices swing all over sometimes.

I rode in a WR on alky today and the spoolup and torque were very impressive. IIRC, the car added about 50 or so peak lb ft of torque with the alky and WR. For those on the fence, find one that has been well tuned and go for a ride. I am sure you will be impressed.

So where are these SAE charts, big guy?

I will be at Pruven tomrorow when I can print the same pulls SAE corrected

Would it make a difference? I say stay tuned for other flash tuners to start tweaking these things.
Your assertions are both misleading and false

have u had the chance to run it on a road course or some twisty roads? how do u like the response of the car when only the turbo is changed? compared to stock/TME...what rpm's do u feel the torque's coming on strong? if u've seen my previous posts, i'm interested in eventually tuning my evo to be the "ultimate response machine" so-to-speak so i'm curious about turbos that offer some power improvement in balance with quick spool.
thanks

So, uh, you went from a 12.2 to an 11.0 by just switching from a TME to a WR? I'm using 12.2 as a guess, since that is what I run on a turbo similar to the TME with only minimal supporting mods...

He tracks his car. He took about 1.2 seconds off his lap times
