the stock turbo is a badass unit....i mean, 400whp on a 2L motor with the stock turbo is NOTHING to sneeze at. i dunno when people are gonna start maxing out their stocker before they jump on the upgrade bandwagon.

If you drop even $1k on an upgraded turbo you are going to want to see more than a 50HP difference. Apparently you have never owned a car with a large DBB turbo. There are many ways to stay in the sweet spot and spool (not driveability) is only affected when you have no desire to go fast. If the stock trubo doesn't do it for you then odds are you are a power freak and you should be looking for a big turbo. I dont know one road racer that would say the stock trubo is insufficient with all the bolt-ons.
Bla bla bla.....You'll understand what I am saying once you drop that kind of cash and you are not happy with the results. I've been there and learned the hard way.
My advice....either wring out the stock turbo with alchy and cams.....or do it right and go big.
Hrm, why haven't there been a lot of posts about this turbo from the UK? It seems to perform as well, if not better, than the WR, and it spools faster. It's too bad the Euro is high. On the other hand, maybe one of the vendors or tuners can work out a deal to be the official US retailer (maybe buy 10 to start).
there were posts about it way back when when this customer got it (he is a friend and customer of mine too) - we are talking about a year or so ago.
Problem is the exchange rate and shipping make it a difficult proposition (I tried)

Max boost with line to wastegate disconnected was 28 psi - max top boost.
The car actually lost power with the extra .5 psi of boost - lost 2 whp
It ran great on the road - fantastic - really nice. Someone comming from a stock turbo would feel a nice kick in the pants especially on the top end. BUT - it does loose out a lot of low end tq compared to the Essex TME unit.
The customer went 11.8 last year with the other turbo 0- he is going to the track tomorrow to test the WR and see how it does on the track.

I got this info from the guy who sell these turbos in UK. He also said that he is working to bring them over to a US vendor.
