I thought the car dynoed had 272's thats why it pulled up top to redline so much.

In speaking with Tym he implied that the stock cams may be best matched to the WR when it comes to peak output as he was unable to match or eclipse his best pull, that much maligned 441whp dyno sheet. However, he did mention that he gained torque through the middle and slightly better spool (300rpm) with a custom grind cam set that he was testing.

As previously mentioned the place where this turbo really shines is in producing flat, broad power across the band. The poster of this thread has a car which would in the real world hang with 90% of the big turbo setups around along with a lot of the factory "titans" (z06, modded Cobras.. etc). The funny thing is how peak WHP numbers are over-exagerrated so often. A car with a power window of 2000rpm may be fast from a stop at 10/10s, but overall cars like those are a bit deceptive in how powerful they actually are and can easily be picked off. My 300whp EVO once held a 520whp E46 Turbo M-Coupe with a 35r from a slow 2nd gear roll to the start of 4th due to lag and wheelspin when it finally did hit. The z06 is a perfect example of what power across the curve means, the LS6 makes around 350whp in stock form yet is capable of running into the 11s from the factory, at around 114-116mph. Ofcourse a big turbo EVO would tear into that from its sweet spot but be warned if you're not where you need to be. Overly peaky setups are not what I consider to be enjoyable on the street, and comprimise what this car is about. The WR seems to perfectly match our car in that it simply lifts the power curve across rather then shifts it higher up and into a smaller window. Not to mention the amazing recovery between shifts of this unit.

I plan to hopefully have the WR on the car by next weekend to start testing with it, I fully plan on retaining the stock cams and eventually running washer fluid/alcohol injection so we'll see where my numbers fall in when I get things together. My 2 cents.

Well put. I like the broad torque curve and hit it and gone sensation! This is a sweet street combo fo sho.

My car is so sick now. They should sell this as the fp400.

I'd be willing to be the fq400 would get "stump broke" in a back to back test on the Top Gear "test track".

A bit off topic, but I reremeber seeing a comparo where the 9.8 housing 16g equipped FQ-340 bested the FQ400 in almost all real world acceleration numbers, that 6th gear drag in the Top Gear review while over exagerated exhibits my point as well as that of others.

I may have a custom FPxxx (FP450?) badge done depending upon my numbers.

I'm sorry, but I'm not buying into that opinion at all for reasons which should be obvious.

Maybe a better way to put it is that the best cam profiles for this turbo may not be the commonly used "drop in" HKS/GSC sets.

This setup much like tuning the stock turbo to its absolutes is more involving then simply throwing on a big turbo setup which will make numbers regardless of whether or not a setup is properly matched to best take advantage of it.
