I can do this for about one car length without really affecting clutch life. Its not like the stock clutch where you can give it some gas and just remove you foot off the clutch. I was able to drive pretty nicely with that technique but I thought it was bad for the clutch. He said its worse to just let off quickly once the car starts moving. Anymore tips would greatly be appreciated because this is definatly a tricky clutch to get used to.
Good to know, thanks for the info Joey!

Joey - Has it been fairly easy to get used to driving this thing in traffic ? I know you had some issues, but can you overcome that pretty qucikly?

Well its not that bad because miami is flat. It would be a pain in the *** to get stuck on a incline with this clutch. If your lazy with the clutch or already hate driving stick then you better really think about getting this. Once I felt the very noticeable low end torque increase and was able to shift lightning fast I didn't care about the driveability of the thing I have over 300 miles on the clutch so far. A ton of which has been city driving and I have yet to miss a single shift. With the old clutch I would grind atleast once daily.

Makes sense...I have never had to replace one of this design...

I was wondering how you made the bump stop for the clutch pedal? Thanks

bump stop is probally other applications. I did not need one on the evo. Adjusting the clutch engagement is a must however. BTW I have yet to miss a shift with this clutch.

I wasn't allowed to race on sunday because I lacked a kill switch for my battery. I was not aware you needed one for a relocated battery This Friday if the weather is ok I will try again

Finally ran the car in the 1/4 mile. The clutch worked flawless. I ended up setting up my launch rpm to 6500 and just dropping the clutch. I think I did great for my first time out. Check out this thread for pics and video.

AutoX run with an instructor. BTW the man was over 6' tall and atleast 250-300lbs. He was a freaking tank !!! Nice guy helped me improve my times and gave me lots of tips. As you can see at 6k RPM with about 8lbs of boost even with the extra weight the car launched great. I still do not slip the clutch I just dump it.

Joey

Have a quick question for you, is your clutch making weird noises? I have this weird sound where when you try and feather the clutch, or when you first engage the clutch and try and feather out. Is sounds like a loud honk. I can repeatly do this is I step in the clutch and feather out again. Any ideas?

Alfred
