Well it might be because it is from Megan Racing but I haven't seen a difference in them.

Hey David --

thanks SOOOOOOOO much for performing this test. I really appreciate your stepping up and testing.

Very interesting results, as i have never seen a cast manifold keep up with a tubular manifold before!!

I think there are some interesting points to take away from this. If anyone was interested in making more power beyond this, my recommendations would be:

1) external wastegate
2) 3" downpipe w/ internal gate welded shut
3) bigger turbo

all in all, great test sir!

edit: anyway one of the mods could compile all the test results on just the front page? It would be much easier to view! thanks

I don't care what words have been exchanged, or off color comments made... you just can't question David's resolve when it comes to true performance.

I'm more impressed (but not surprised by) David's honesty than the results.

Damn good job sir... damn good job.

I have tested the cars with an external wastegate. I tried quite a few different ways of getting it done. No change in peak power and for some reason that I still can't put my finger on the cars lost low end power.

Thinking back on it I am wondering if the internal gate allowed more of a spike in boost which would have made higher torque numbers. I wish I had the old dyno files but the hard drive crashed when we had the dynojet and all was lost.

We don't run or sell the solid underdrive pullies. We don't recommend them either. No test on them will be coming from our shop.

David,

Any word on receiving the Works O2 housing for testing? PM me if you don't get one headed your way in the near future.

Dave

I'd really like to test it. Nobody from there contacted me about it, they may have never seen this topic, I don't know. It is an easy piece to change so if they'd be willing to send one I could test it just about anytime.

Just to add to the 02 housing talk.... I had the 2 following parts installed the other day:

(keep in mind i am 05 so I already had 10.5)

1)BR 10.5 Ported/Coated
2)Ebay 02 (also had it coated)

WOW! Took the car for a drive and boost shot to 25psi, so I turned it back down to 22.5 and the car still feels much improved. Spool-up seems faster, throttle response is better and top end there is a definite gain, I couldnt be more happy! Also, K.I.M I have the DC manifold on there too (also coated)! Im very happy witht he new setup.

I made 346whp before all these mods including the BR FMIC. Id like to go see Al at Pruven sometime soon, hoping for some 365+ numbers. The car is pulling very hard.

Invidia is making a cast 304 Stainless O2 housing apparently. I saw it in turbo magazine.
I am going to look into price and if I can get my hands on one I will send it to David for testing.

I am still curious about the results that David will have from the extra porting that he will do on the stock O2 housing. I still like the idea of a well flowing stock piece over the aftermarket units.

So was the psi set at 22.5 before , then new parts were added and then the psi jumped up 2.5psi . Sorry if this is worded crazy the cold meds are working on me
