A full Stage 4 kit is what I recommend before considering ANY turbo upgrade, this includes a FMIC. The FMIC is half the money of the turbo and will add a solid 15 whp to just about any EVO. Good choice to do that first.

Will the FMIC help to provide any additional gains if Alky Injection is already present? I know the upgradege FMIC will flow better than the stock unit but wont the cooling effect be about the same?

Absolutely it will make more gains even with alky in the loop.

Thanks Nick! The Buschur ported/coated manifold showed up today. I will install it tomorrow in the afternoon if I have time.

I did find 1 leak on the upper pipe at the air temp sensor bung and I need to address that while I'm in the engine bay. It was leaking pretty bad.

I have pretty much everything neccessary for the upgrade on this minus the new front mount but I was under the impression that the stock front mount holds up to 400whp

I doubt I'll see 400whp on pump gas. Is the new front mount absolutely neccessary?

Sure it will "hold" that amount but with HP like that heatsoak won't be far behind. Not neccessary but highly recommended.

I would definately get one looking at where you live...

The FMIC is a definite modification you should do before considering any turbo upgrade.

I don't want to be rude but the FMIC is going to be a tough sell for most of us. Even if its good for 15HP its not something that most of us are willing to drop the ching on. In all honesty most of us will stick with the stock intake and stock IC for most of the cars life.

Aside from the likelyhood of needing injectors and being able to hold boost, what kind of gains will a 20G-9.5 provide over a stock turbo'd 2005 EVO8 with the same mods on pump gas?

Myself.....I wonder how much better the 20G-9.5 is over the stock EVO9 turbo. I mean I know the 9 > 8 but is the 20G really that much better than the stock 9 turbo?

Again I'm not ripping on Buschur at all. I know he provides honest reporting and quality parts I'm just requesting some "average guy" reports for this snail because if pump gas gains are less than 30WHP I'm not willing to shell out the cash.

I think David is trying to say, the cost per dollar amount is better doing a FMIC. Get all the basic mods done first and then decide if you want to upgrade the turbo.

"Most of us" install the supporting mods first, then do the turbo upgrade. You sound like you are speaking for the people when you should just be speaking for yourself.

If your not willing to drop the "ching" as you put it on a new fmic(supporting mod) for $700, then why would you spend the "ching" or $1,300+ on a new turbo good for around 30 whp? That makes absolutely no sense to me.

Installing the right combination of parts is what makes/helps things work better.

Wow. You fellas sure dont come off as being friendly.

But to further support my request, I dont believe the FMIC is a restriction (at least at 20G airflow levels).

Its not a supporting mod when the stock unit will work just fine with a bigger turbo.

Why spend the money on a turbo? Because you can run race gas or alchy and crank the boost. FMIC gains are minimal unless you are heat soaking which in my case is unlikely.
