Vishnu vs Buschur and Al.......I LOSE!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at my own personal meeting with Shiv... some day I'll get way up north and shake David's hand too.
Then what is the point of such a tuning "contest" then ?
How can you quantify "daily driveability" and "fuel economy" on a dyno ?
This kind of subject allways really makes me laugh. It is importanmt to discuss these points though as many of the customers do not realize what dyno tuning is all about and seem to to be fixated on the peak numbers obatained. Which is not to say that Buschur can't make peak numbers, I am saying that making large peak numbers is not something that is imporant.
The art to tuning is to make really good peak numbers while mainatining really safe tuning parameters which as timing and a/f.
It is very hard to judge a tune on a street car and any competant tuner would prob be within a few whp of the other on such a machine.
As far as I am concerend the real test of a tuner's ability is in tuning very high whp evos that are making 900 or more whp. That is where you either know what you are doing of the motor blows up.
Every year at the DSM shootout they have a "King of the Dyno" contest in which cars are strapped to the dyno all day long one after the other to see who can make the most possible power. Last year I won that contest with 580 mustang whp and then proceeded to race the car all day long the next day and win the Evo head's up class at the DSM Shootout.
This type of activity is a "contest" that means something and can show you some insight into whoich tuners know how to tune and set up engines.
The stunt that is proposed here is just silly and really means nothing.

One way to judge tuning skills I think is by looking at how fast all my customers have been going with my reflash all over the USA in the past month alone
Anyway - I have to catch a plane
happy easter everyone and TTYL

The 'Group Tuning' is interesting. I've read many threads about 'friendly' dyno challenges that leads to nothing in the end between the 2 camps.
But if both tuners agree to meet up and have a dyno day with Smoked's car, it's what the owner prefer in the end that determines the 'winner' if you will. Not the highest horsepower etc.?
Or am I not reading it right?
But it would be great if both Shiv and Dave decide to meet up and have a friendly dyno tuning event.
Sort of like the UFC Team Shamrock and Team Ortiz deal

The idea is to let smokedmustang drive his car with both tunes and see what he has to say about them. The dyno charts are also useful but by no means the most important aspect of the comparison. I'd be supplying the very same tuning service that I do at all my dyno days. Just like the one that Smokedmustang is signed up for in GA in the near future. If Dave wants to do the same and offer his tuning services, what would be better than offering them both on the same day and at the same place and letting the customer do an A/B comparison? How often does that opportunity arise? I could only benefit the customer which is what this is all about. I think this would go a long way in demonstrating differences in how each tuner actually tunes as well as the differences in each tuning platform.
They say actions speak louder the words (which problably speak louder than internet typing) so I think this get-together would be a good thing. It would also be a fun opportunity to meet people as I don't go out to Ohio often.
