Well I finished the rear of the funny car tonight. Thats the most I will do until I actually mount the body to the new chassis which should be sometime next week I presume. Once I do that I can map out exactly where I want the front tires / suspension. I also cut out some brackets to hold the rear suspension and tires to my mock up axle. Hopefully I will have the rear tires / suspension on my mockup axle and the entire front end completed early next week. After that the engine assembly will need to be hung then start with the tin work Ill get some pics up soon of the progress.

Big props to you for such a big endeavor. This is going to be the first true Evo race car (for drag racing) that I have seen. Im sure that you already know this, but Bushur makes an adapter plate to mount a 4g63 to a powerglide. I am building a similiar but lighter car. An evo 4g63 in a full tube chasis opel GT with a 9" ford, powerglide, transbrake, acid dipped body, fiberglass nose, etc.. My project should way in at about 1800 lbs. I am shooting for low 8's without building a $10,000 engine. Trying to do this on a very tight budget. Luckily the car in already done. I just need to fit in the 4g63. Good luck with the build. You are very talented for sure.

Our adapter plate won't work with the EVO block, wish it did. I do have flexplates though and kick as torque converters.

Ill be machining out my own adapter plates. I doubt Ill be using a Powerglide but Im really not sure yet what tranny Ill go with. Ill give you a call about the Flexplate though. I fit up a flexplate off an 29 Chevy S-10 and it actually fit so I gotta see if I can just buy some sort of a chevy flexplate and use that

If you do the entire job custom, I'd recommend making a flexplate that can use a standard torque converter. Part of the reason our convertor is expensive is because it is custom to our flywheel which was built so we could use the stock 1G AWD starter.

Car sure looks good. Wanna sell it?

I did look into alot of your parts already... At first I kinda thought the prices were outrageous but honestly the incredibly high stall convertors are very expensive anyways.

My plan was to machine out my own flexplate, weld on a ring gear from something American and make sure it will all fit. I havent really done any drawing or planning on it yet but that was my original idea. There are also a few companies that will make them custom for right around $300. Reactor Flexplates I think is one of the companies.

Once I actually figure out what tranny I will be using Ill get a better idea of how its all gonna work. Im gonna look into the whole S-10 flywheel some more also... I couldnt believe that it actually bolted up.

And I hope you dont think the car looks good yet! Give me a month or so then give me a compliment... right now its a big go-cart sitting next to a junkyard looking Evo
