I don't really agree with you on that I do think that cosi cams do give power they way I see it 10 whp 15 tq I'm sure its not that cosi cams that's holding me back

The reason I'm swapping from apexi to hks is because sean ivey told me he has good luck with that intake it been showing to give good # and his very happy with it I don't mind swaping filter every 4k 5k miles I don't drive the car alot

Why? what makes you think that all Dynojets read identically. I wouldn't be surprised if his car is faster and traps higher than yours... (Let's just say that TurboTrix's dyno reads "generously" )

How many times does it need to be said - you don't compare numbers from different dynos. I repeat, you don't compare numbers from different dynos.

rant over,

kthxbye

+1000 on that statement...

its like me saying that my car produces 309whp / 327ft-lbs on pump @ 22psi spike and tell people wonder how i run 12.1@114 with so low horsepower (!!!)...

...without of course telling them that these are DD unocorrected numbers...

Dyno is a tool... only the track and trap speed will tell the whole story...

Dynojets are pretty uniform. They are just big drums you accelerate, if teh weight is the same for the drums then so should the readouts.

Yes there are....Mine do every time.

The thing that stands out to me reading most of these threads is: most people are not buying the correct cams for the turbo size and application.
The Kelford 9-177-B, the 272 Cossie and the S2 GSC are all big cams and not really designed for a stock turbo at all, they are designed for engines from 450-650hp. The 9-177-A cams we make are specifically designed for a stock turbo.

Well i did!

i knew that the Cossies are a bit of overkill for the stock turbo. 272/272 11m lift is not a mild cam....

...but when i have in my future plans a FP3065 or a GT35 then i chose wise as i won't need to pay for cams again....

Well, with my mods (in the sig) I had 315 whp and 345tq at 22psi. Had to turn it down to 20 psi due to knock issues. Suffice it to say i was pretty pissed off at the time.

The one thing cosworth dyno's have in common are, with catless exhaust they get great numbers. With a hfc or restrictive exhaust they get crappy numbers. With a turbo upgrade and the proper support mods they get great numbers.

They are great on a highly moddified car with a turbo upgrade, not so good on a stock turbo running a hfc.

Whatever happened to the testing cbrd was going to do?

hey guys...

we did some testing on our own... but not back to back with the cossies and gsc's...

but from the cars we have tested, the gsc's have show more solid results... i dont care for the cossies at all really

+1. Most of us have been through this mod game before. I refuse to buy anything twice...anymore, which is why i still have my stock downpipe(most turbokits have a custom dp...so i'll wait). So, cossies may be overkill now, but they won't be for too long.

From speaking to all the guys in PR that have the fastest stock turbo IXs that are running Cosworth, they ALL said the power for these cams is in the MIVEC tunning! The guy RuelasEvoIX went from trapping 117 to 121.8 all was done was install the Cosi cams and told me they spent alot of time tuning for them and got GREAT results. I rode in my friends IX with Cosi cams after he got retuned and it was a HUGE difference
