A/C power button does not work

Hi, I can't seem to get the a/c power button to turn off. The light is always on, no matter how many times I push/hold it. Is that supposed to happen or is it a problem?

Hey, don't poke fun. Yes, I've always had the cold on max, so that's the problem. I never knew that, since my last car didn't do that.

No, I always leave it on max cold. If it gets too cold, I just turn it off or let the outside air blow in, by turning the a/c off but leaving the fan blowing. Just how I am, and how I've always done it.

While on the topic......The AC system they put in this car sucks.......I have no idea why....I owned a MItsu Galant before this car and the AC was awesome. Very strong and cold....As for the EVO, it takes awhile before the cabin gets cold.....I guess they probably tuned down the AC system so it can increase little performance.....

I dunno....I've gone through numerous 90+ degree humid days and the A/C seems to be working good enough. It does take a while to cool down a hot cabin...but what car doesn't?

I'm just glad I dont have to deal with scorching leather seats anymore!

They AC itself works fine for me and always has (unfortunately I can't really use it now cept on the highway), but I agree that the controls blow. I wonder if it's possible to take an electronic AC unit from an Asia/Pacific Rim/AU/NZ Lancer/Evo and swap out the wire controlled AC controls.

EDIT: Note to self: Find synonym for "controls".
