When I compare your comments in the last few posts to the first, it's like a different person! Did your kid post the first comments or ??

Your responses to my jabs bring out more than the EVO slander that was posted in broken english at first...

All it took was a little more effort and maybe someone not appreciating your comments about the driveline I guess..

Now you have a pulse based on your last posts!!

And you really think the STi has a better driveline??
LOL alright I've re-read my post, I agree it was overly negative...I was feeling overly negative at the time...My car is 2 weeks old I'm just finding out what exactly I bought, & it's not living up to my expectations...but I guess my expectations were artificially high. I don't want to hijack this guys clutch thread any more. I vote Mitsu screwed up the clutch, among other things, but I'll try to kep it positive

I have put ont the S/S clutch line and removed the restricter and spring. This was done at 875 mile and I took the car to the track at 1000 miles. 1st pass 1.80 60' 13.9 @95mph next pass 2.1 60' and the clutch was know were to be found. I watched the RPM go from 4500 to 7000 then back to 5000 then back to 7000 then shifted to 2nd. Boy oh boy did that thing stink we I got it back to the pit area.
So, I think Mits. did screw things up on the clutch.
As for the ACT stuff. I am 100% a ACT MAN myself. I have had 3 ACT on my 485Whp GSX (Now more thatn that) I love each one of them 1.7s and 1.6s 60's all day long. If it is stinking at the end of the run the better it will hook up onthe next pass!

the evos clutch

I am a recently new member, I have recently posted already on this subject. just to restate i had to replace clutch at 2700 mls. I f that wasn't bad enough Mitsu will not warranty, even though the regional said that if the car met surtain conditions it most likely would be covered. What mitsu was basing their claim to not warranty was if it was race driven(god forbid anybody to buy a car that only sells 5000 or less a year to be put into race car category and then actually drive the car quicker than what ones grandma would see at a suitable speed) anyways the kicker is the car came with 400 mls. there was no tread missing on the tires and the clutch wasn't burnt but it did have hotspots granted. I'm trying to not sound to angry, but it is ridiculous for the sales people to say "oh you really should consider getting our wonderful warranty" and then turn around and bend the consumer over when they need to make usage of their money in the warranty. one more little quick bit of info, the minute i felt that the clutch was slipping i imediately took it in,but the service tech told me it was bad gas w/out even checking the car and told me to take it home it was fine. so when i brought it back and it wasn't fine they said that info was irrelevant

This is bull**** for this dealer to do this to you..

I would get Mitsu Corporate invloved..

Gosh, it has to suck to not get the backing of the manufacturer when the car wasn't abused..

we recently had some clutch issues with a customer car.

we were on the dyno tuning the aem ems standalone. after about 20 pulls the clutch started smoking and wouldnt enguage properly. it was chattering and shuddering like mad. we were allowing the car to cool down for 2-4 mins between runs. we let the car cool down for about 35 mins and it seemed ok.

the only driving i have done was to pull the car around the parking lot. it felt spungy and like **** in general. nuthing like the honda clutches im used to

After 4 dealer visits

My clutch started making an obnoxious noise at the point where the disc first began to contact the pressure plate. I only had 4000 miles on it and it had been babied. The clutch never slipped on me. After four trips to the dealer and an unpleasant encounter with the district rep, Mitsubishi fixed it under warranty when the car lurched forward while I was starting it up one day with the clutch fully depressed. At that time the car had 9000 miles on it and still no clutch slippage, only that horrible noise. They put in a new pressure plate, throw out bearing and disc. The noise is now gone.
I had to threaten lemon law buyback but they finally bucked up.

I think that is probably their plan. Make it very unpleasant and maybe some folks will pay for the repairs that warranty should cover. Do not give up if you have not abused your evo. There is a clutch/pressure plate problem and Mitsubishi knows it.

I've replaced a few already. None of the cars had more than 10,000 miles on them. One had only 4000 miles on it. It was completely and utterly gone to the point where I barely was able to get it in the shop without pushing it.
