Hi all,
There are so many shops out there messing with the EVO. Some of the stuff I am seeing in the magazines are such are joke. How the hell do you get invited to one of these shootouts they have anyway?!!
I keep seeing one particular company invited to these things and they aren't doing well in my book. Spending over $4,000 on your new EVO and running little better than a REAL stock EVO time is a joke. $2,000 for an exhaust and some hokey computer upgrade isn't acceptable either.
I want an invitiation!!

They deserve a GOLD medal in butt kissing and marketing - too bad they don't have any talent in making real fast cars
When guys like you or I read this journalistic diarea our stomachs turn cause we feel ILL knowing that hundreds of fools out there who don't know any better will be reading this MISINFORMATION and wasting hard earned money on these garbage overpriced products which barely make a few HP - meanwhile - they will prob be tossing that play toy stuff out in the trash in a few months after they find out what EVO performance is all about and what is really out there - - just too bad you wont find that info on the pages of any so called "tuner" magazines.
It really disappoints me to know just how corupted and unprofessional the automotive aftermarket journaslitic industry is. Instead of going about and finding the BEST products and cars for the best value to really inform the public, these magazines instead sit around in a very lazy fashion and keep catering to the same individuals with whom they have secret deals.
With situations like Enron and the like - I guess we Americans should expect that our whole society is filled with sneaky dishonesty. It's maybe foolish of me to hope and expect that publications dealing with a fun hobby like cars would not act like sneaky major companies - but they do. The trash they publish is mostly a series of ads - with more ads mascarading as "articles" mixed in between
These "insider" tuners may get lots of exposure in these magazines with their buddys always writing about thier stage zeros and etc etc etc - - BUT when it comes to the world of PERFORMANCE - they really don't have anything to show - - these guys have NO 1/4 mile records, no championships. no dyno records, no victories - NOTHING - nothing except some weak - pathetic slow and overpriced products which only succeed in marketing hype and profit margin
Dave - I respect you and your company - i am so glad that you have the nerve to speak your mind and call a spade a spade
Dave - aren't you on the editorial board of one of them Import Magazines ??? Can't you talk to them and arrange a real EVO whootout where the real players can come out to play???
It make me very happy the DSm world has guys like you - I really appreciate your DSM shootout - I don't think you will be seeing any of those "other" tuners they write about in those magazines at the DSM shootout - they all know they better hide under some rocks like a slimey liazzard - - they can't wind up exposed under the bright light of the track and a stop watch. The track is where the games, BS and tricks stop and the rubber meets the road.
Dave - keep up the great work !

The exhausts must be speaking for themselves because we can't seem to build them fast enough. That in itself says something to me.

I've been with Buschur since day one of my Evo modding and I will stay with Buschur. Send me some stickers or something to put on my Evo. I'd be gald to advertise for you guys. Hell, I'll even put a windsheild vinyl decal on if you have one.
Dave, let the words just roll off Dude, you are THE MAN, YOUR PARTS ARE KICK ***, NO BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE OUT THERE, PRICES CANT BE BEAT, NUMBERS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES, 100% AMERICAN BLOOD AND SWEAT TESTING AND BUILDING 'EM.........AND HELL WHOEVER HAS A PROBLEM WITH THAT JUST TELL'EM: " LETS' LINE EM UP AND WE CAN HANDLE THIS IN 1320 FEET BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Keep up the good work, you always have my vote, and ain't a darn thing gonna change that Dude!! GOD BLESS Y'ALL, RICK...THE NY-4BANGA...
Just so everyone is aware. The AEM system is a full standalone. if you are not a hacker/tweaker in every sense of the word I highly recomend you stick with an SAFC. The AEM will never drive as nicely and smoothly as stock, and I think its more of a drag racing mod.
When someone like BR says a turbo is good for 650 whp that certainly does NOT mean that its will automatically give you that much. i saw that assumption being made and its rather silly.
Never-the-less, even BR seems to be overestimating the cost for 500whp. For instance you won't need a 450 dollar fuel pump. A Walbro 255 HP would have no problem at all maintaining the fuel pressure for 500 whp IMHO.
Do we know for a fact that the EVO FPR needs replacing with high flowing fuel pumps?

I finished installing Buschurs new IC Friday night, been gone all weekend. I started at 4 pm and everything was back on the car and cranked at 8:30. I have never taken the front bumper or the I/C off before but it was easy.
The black pipe to the turbo is a ***** to get on. I managed to get it on leaving the starter in place.
I had to use a dead blow to move the left/right hangers on the I/C slightly in order to get it to fit on the car correctly, no prob. I decided to stay with the stock upper I/C pipe instead of upgrading to Buschurs upper I/C which in turn required me to fabricate items to make this work. I used the stock lower I/C mesh hose and cut a 2 inch straight peice and used it to join the stock lower I/C pipe to the new I/C. It was tight as hell but it fit. Iused hose clamps to secure it even though it was so damn titght.
Once in there was a bit of cutting of the under tray. Look at the stock I/C and how it attatches to the under tray with plastic screws that lock. The screws lock under the stock I/C. That was all cut out in order to drop the new I/C in.
All in all a basic install. Nothing is going to be a perfect form fit. There is going to be some adjustment to be made here and there.
Test drove it and noticed a little lag, not much. Pulls like hell all the way to redline. I havent by any means even begun to unleash this I/Cs potential but give me some time.
Look at the front shot picture. Is it me or is the I/C tilted? Looks like the left corner is lower, not level. When I stand in font of it it looks crooked.

VERY NICE MAN!!!
Crocked or not, that thing is still mean looking. HUGE FRONT MOUNT = move OUT of my WAY FOOL!
Great pictures also, if it would be possible could you take pics of the underneath part where you had to cut the lower tray, I am really curious about it before I buy it! Great write up though.... Keep it coming.

I have known Dave when he still worked at the Steel Mill and made parts on the side. He was the first to do all kinds of crazy mods. Some worked better than others, but he was never afraid to try them. He even believed certain things were not worth it like Cams or Nitrous but this was all before he had Tym and others working with him, and waaaaay before the Dyno he has today.
My post is here is say that Dave B is one great, honest guy and all who work for him are top notch. I have nothing to gain by saying this as he does not sponsor or give me any kind of hook up. I have bought soo much from him, I have lost track. From turbos, to IC's to Sheel metal intakes to fuel components etc. His parts put are number 1 and put me in the 11's years ago on a stock long block from valve cover to oil pan. My car still runs a couple of his components and I am glad I bought them.
If I owned an EVO, I would go to Dave B or my Local shop Pruven Performance for parts and service. Dave is top notch in both parts and service, and his welds are freaking amazing.
I hope you guys understand there is a huge differance between people like Dave and Asswipes like Vishnu! If you have not realized, the only people who really like Vishnu are the guys at these Import magazines (I refuse to buy any of those Magazines). Vishnu thinks selling an exhaust with a million hangers and making it look pretty makes it a better product. What ever!
Dave, keep putting out better products and service, and keep the cost down like you always have! We all know you were here before and will continue to be here for a long time making much better prooducts! Thats how a great family business is run.

There is no substitute for accomplishments and experience. However if you are looking for cool conversation piece material. then there are Obviously other options.
Mr Buschur's products are based on over 14 years of experience making Power with your Motor. Im quite sure that even for the guys who is not interested in living their lives a quater mile at a time. you can benefit from the experience of Mr. Buschurs accomplishments. Making over 900Hp and tackling the 1/4 mile in 7 seconds does not come easy.
