How so? The White does exactly what EVOIXreno just asked for ... "stock spool with more power", and it only costs $600 as an upgrade. The Green makes more power than the White, but has more lag as well.Originally Posted by Sully 18

Hopefully Chad has something that has stock spool and Green power, or Green spool and 30R power.
I guess we'll see in a little bit. :-)

That's completly true, It all depends on your wants and needs, If they re named it just for the hell of it... o well. But we will have to wait for results to really see if its pointless!Originally Posted by jbrown

that would be impressive..with green spool and 30r power....i dont mind lag though..i want more top end...2 step from a dig..or brake boost from roll...ull never have lag

I doubt all of these stock frame turbos were made just for drag racing. Not everyone wants lag and top end. If your only goal is top end and straight lines, then get a 35r

I don't think it's that cut and dry. The Green as-is can already put you in the 10s with the right setup. That's one helluva drag car, but it has near-stock spool that makes it a monster for autox and road racing. I don't think anyone can consider the small loss in rpm to be "lag" you know? The White may be cool, but the spool difference will not be noticeable to the butt dyno probably, so if the power isn't noticeably better than a stock IX, then the cost may not be worth it.Originally Posted by evoPirate

The HTA wheel which is used in the White dyno'd at 40+ HP over the stock Buschur compared it to. That's "noticeably better" in my book.
Back on the topic here -- what is the target mass air for the CBRD offering, and how does it compare to the 47 lb/min of the FP White or the 49 lb/min of the Green?

Oh I agree, just seems everyone expects these stock frame turbos to magically hold 30psi to 9k rpms and spool at 2k rpms lol Now the guy I was saying that to, responded to the guy who thought the Green was too laggy for him. He is running pump, and low psi, so his current set up might not be the best choice for him specifically. This one might not be either. Until its released, we don't know. But, one of the other new release turbos which I won't mention cause it has its own thread, seems to be a better choice for someone in his position. Mostly I was commenting (not in a negative way mind you) on the suggestion of 2 step and brake boosting to solve any lag problems.....that solves issues for drag and street racers, but not the average street car, autoX cars, and road race or rally cars.
Personally I find it all very exciting. Things are finally starting to heat up for those of us who choose not to just drop several thousand dollars on an aftermarket turbo kit. From the excitement of the WR8, the other 20g's, FP's old and new and hopefully future turbo, Helix's and CBRD's threads have caused, the community is chomping at the bit for more choices to fit different needs.

Yep, these are all right up my alley and will shine in my use. I have no need or desire for a larger turbo that spools later than my IX unless I magically end up with a stroker or 2.4, which would offset that spool loss.

Exactly! You're an all around racer, and need an all around turbo. I think there are many, many drivers on here who are in the same boat. Some forget, not everyone wants to go in a straight line all day long or do extremely dangerous things on public highways where those larger turbo's shine.
