From observations while there, and in my opinion I think Martin's car is not typical, it makes good top end at low boost and is a little light on the bottom, so take that into consideration when trying to decide what will work for you.
What it all will boil down to is that cams with similar valve motion specs will perform about the same on the same test bed, the trends will become clear.
What works optimally on one car will not on another. You will notice shops will prefer one grind over another, because they saw better results on their combos. This does not mean their preferred grind is the only one that works. Hell, look at SBC's- must be at least 1000 grinds for std geometry std core diameter flat tappets. There is a valid reason for this. Those of you wanting to get optimal results on your own setup are going to have to experiment a little. Maybe someone ought to start a 'cam trader', it would reduce end-user's R&D costs.
It would have been interesting to have had a calibrated MAF on the car and do some math.

I will be patient for these guys, im sure its always a task throwing a test like this together between all the work they already have. I have had my HKS 272's in for years now and I am so excited to see what these test results bring. The only wish i have is to test the BF 272's against the rest only b/c i have only seen graphs from Buschur built cars and I have no idea on the specs of these cams. I want to see what they do with this current setup.
Overall these test results will help my final decision on my next upgrade in a HUGE way, Thanks again AMS.

Very good point you make and readers need to know that throwing a set of Tomei 280's or FP5R's on a stock turbo won't net the same results as on my setup. I did a little testing and if you go too big on the exhaust side with a stock turbo you'll kill spool up and bottom end power without any real gains.
We put in some FP5R's on a evo 9 - 2.3RR build and they worked really nice, picked up a decent amount over the previous cams. Too bad they're on back order, I got a few peep's waiting on them.

My settings on the BC STG 3's was 4 degrees retarded on the exhaust and 2 degrees advanced on the intake to be at 0/0. All other cams I tested where withing 1 degree.
You should make fixtures and a custom tip to hold a dial indicator on the retainer, get a degree wheel on the crank, figure out cam specs, find CL and adjust the cams. Not to mention the cams specs on the BC cams card are not correct, so if you go off that you'll be off anyways. You have to find the valve events on your own, figure out CL and then interpret where they wanted it. I have hours and hours into this and to be honest, since your setup can be different than mine (different deck height, head thickness, cam gears, ect), you really should degree it on your car. If the cams I measured were that far off, who knows if other batches are the different.
