^ yeah- it's a toss-up between the kelfprdds top end & the gsc s2's mid range.....just depends on the oweners desire....

it's nice to know that there are 2 decent choices out there.......

ok, now who is going to do a 2nd gear 3k to 8k, 4k to 8k & 5k to 8k blast to see how boost response is between the gsc s2's & kelford 272's?

send me a set of each & I will compare them to cosi m2's as well.

all data will be backed up with near identical boost traces, ait's & power curves.

test will be conducted on a fp-grn. basic bolt on's, oem cylinder head all conducted on a private road traveling on in a similar direction.

I second this test.

Can we get an overlay of the S2's and the Kelfords?

How about 30 psi pull for the S2 and Kelfords 272.

I've followed this whole thread with great interest. Thanks to Martin and AMS for putting this test together!!

A question I've had, and I don't know if it's been brought up before, is this-

Rather than on moderate boost, how will these results translate to a turbo that is maxxed out on the top end. That is, you can run the boost controller wide open and it still won't make any more PSI. Will you still see major differences in the top end between these different cams, or will you only see the low-mid differences with all being pretty much equal at the top end of the RPM range??

Thanks!

Peak power is nice for dyno sheets and bench racing, but midrange power is nice when you have to shift and re-spool a turbo and actually win a race in real life.
You aren't the only one, I agree with you.
The GSC and Kelford curves cross over each other at about 6500 rpm.
Above 6500 the Kelfords are on top by 5 or 10 hp, but below 6500 the GSC's are on top by 10 to 20 hp. I also think it's interesting that the GSC's low end advantage is even greater at 30 psi than it is at 22psi. On the 30 psi chart they are up by as much as 20 or 30 hp in the 4500 to 6000 rev range.

the HP difference are so minuscule I wouldn't be so quick to rule one better than the other based on one dyno pull.

Mellon,

I agree with you on that statement!

I am running a green and preety sure my results will differ from the ones posted here. However, it is a good benchmark because a lot of people are running similar setup.... GT35, built head, etc.

Thanks to AMS for taking the time and effort to put this together!
