I here ya, yea I used to run their 3x cams but the head that was used was destroyed and I know have Bee hive springs. Those springs will not work well with their x series cams per FP's own words. I had a set of Bf 272's I wanted to run and could have if degreed but I didn't know they where mystery cams. I also had no idea that they would come w/o a cam card for timing events info, if told this upon purchase I would have not purchased them. I just lost my last engine to pistons meeting valves because the cams where installed straight up. Thats all Buschur kept telling me to do again and I just spent 8k on this new engine so that was a negative. I sent them back with a 15% restocking fee and plan on ordering a new set tomorrow or sometime this week.

From the reading I have been doing through the search button it seems that the Kelfords or Juns are the way to go for what I want. I just want to order the best one out of the two.

One thing that I should note is that any engine with reworked head that employs larger diameter valves and aftermarket pistons should be subjected to a valve clearance test. When I say valve clearance, I mean actually putty the pistons and see to it that there is at least 0.060" on the intake and 0.080 on the exh. Aluminum rod motors should see even more. I had to do this with my motor, and without that, I would have met the same fate. I can only imagine that many others are within a gnat's a$$ of destruction and don't know it.

As for your cam selection, I would keep the duration reasonable, which should maintain your midrange torque and not cost you any power up top (i.e. through 8k rpm or so) with your 2.3. The JUNs are a fairly long duration cam.

Cams are setup specific. Although the this AMS test is extremely valuable info it is on a 35r 2.0 on relatively small boost. Start adding stroke ,high boost, and head flow and you really need to do your own cam test to find what works best for your setup.

I haven't visited this thread in quite some time. So to give everyone an update, I presently have the APS TBE, MBC, FP, Injen CAI, Injen LICP, and GSC S1. My intentions once I return from Iraq (fourth trip) is to buy the BR BMIC, O2 dump, and the BBK Full turbo (running E85) along with the necessary parts. In going through ALL of the posts the Kelfords and GSC S2s have caught my attention. My question is whether or not they will make an ultimate difference when at the end of the day my goad is to have a spirited 450whp? I'm thinking that they won't considering the larger FMIC, turbo, and E85 but it doesn't hurt to get other opinions.

GSC S1 cams Evo IX, I have them and they work FINE. No loss in spool, fatter mid range, that's the way to do it.
