9sec9/OKIX's EVO, ROUND TWO!
We can't count ducks yet. We try to line them up and then shoot their little heads, one at a time. I want the last duck to fall as much as anyone. David and Renee and the kids and I went to dinner tonight. What a great family. I really mean it. Everything that anyone would hope for. I don't say this lightly. David Buschur is a true to life family man. Anyway, we talked about how far we've come in such a short time. We've both done our best to accomplish our goals. The only thing I refuse to do is cut on the car to save weight. I haven't removed the inside A/C, nor the ACD. I've removed enough to help with the weight, but only bolt on/off stuff. The car is still 'heavy' when compared to many other race cars, but there HAS to be a limit as to what you will do to a perfectly good RS. Based on what has been removed, the car should weigh about 2860 with Trent. I've heard that the PR car weighed less than 2550 with the driver. That can be disputed by those who know, but at this point, that's what I understand. I'm not willing to cut our car up just to make it lighter for a 'record'. We've already moved 2900 pounds to 9.69 at 145.16 mph. That proves our and Buschur's ability to make serious power on the FP-RED. I don't feel as though I have to prove anything else, just for myself now. If we make a new record, I know the powers that be with PR will be proud for us, just as we were proud for them. An honest to goodness respect for each team. If we don't make it, we've still done very well with a much heavier car and few times to the track. Tomorrow night will possibly tell the tale. Thanks to all of our supporters and wish us luck. It takes luck, skill and a little star alignment to get to these levels. We know it and so does Javier and his team. Whatever the outcome, we've both done our best for the time being.
Thanks for the kind words Tom. You and I have become great friends, this has been such a great year for me. I've had more fun this year than I have in the last 5 combined when it comes to the shop and racing etc.
Looking forward to tomorrow night. A lot of work to still do tomorrow to get my own stuff ready for Monday.
Good luck to us.

Good luck!!! YOU and DB have been doing a hell of a job. Congrats and good luck again
JVELA, thanks for your post. As you know, both your team and ours work very hard to get our results. Neither one is slacking anywhere. Talk is cheap, so I wasn't too sure about the weight, only what we've heard, so it was good to get that straightened out. Good luck to you all too. I know you all are not sitting back either. It's great to have some friendly competition as it keeps both of us on our toes. Thanks again for your comment and our respect for you and your fellow PR team is strong. Good luck to you too.
