There, fixed your list. Why would you go for a red when you haven't already maxed out the stock setup? But then again you prolly don't have alky injection or an upgraded clutch either, so might as well add those to your list..... ...bigger injectors! Add those into the cost of the red too!

My point being, there's plenty of fun to be had with the stock turbo before you go jumping to a bigger turbo setup! This turbo is really for guys like me, I am at (or damn close) to the limit of the IX turbo, and I've already upgraded to that from my stock VIII turbo.
Right on man, plus you need a downpipe for either setup. Buschur's kit comes with a manifold and o2, but not a downpipe.

How about installation time? It's easier to replace stock parts with new stock parts than to install a new turbo kit and run new oil and coolant lines.

Or what if you just want it to look stock?

Your stock DP and O2 will fit on the turbo. What part of "stock frame turbo" don't people get.

I hope he's being sarcastic.

Putting a red on a car that doesn't even have a downpipe yet is pretty stupid.

I think he means a standard, or stock fitting DP / O2 Housing.

1799 + 45 for ported + 100 for ceramic coating = 1944 not 2100. Does Buschur charge more for porting and coating or something?

Plus instal kit $130 plus$1944 is $2074 DAAAAAAAAA.
No you dont need DP, mani, and o2 but they all help make more power. It would be stupid not to use these parts how else would you max out the turbo. Sure you can get the stock mani ported coated thats $200 plus labor unless you remove it yourself then you still have to ship it and that gets pricy.

Sorry buddy but im maxed out...

What i am saying is by the time you add up all the parts to match a typical kit your at about the same price and you can even get a cast mani 35r for $2999. So if all you want to do is go "bowling" there are better turbos.

And yes I have my red on order and its a daily.

As far as 60 whp over the stock ix not sure about that but we can all hope.

If you are running at a reasonable boost level (28-ish), the data here seems to support that level of gain.

If you are referring to my post, I wasn't being sarcastic. The Red will fit on all stock parts. You can even bend the stock oil and water lines. Honestly, the only new part you would need is the outlet pipe/LICP.

I would assume if you are going to buy the Red turbo, you would have already maxed out your stock turbo. I would also hope that people are smart enough to know that throwing a turbo that flows that much on a "stock like" Evo is pretty pointless.

You guys are Haters..I'd love to take a stock evo, throw a red on it with a fuel pump, test pipe, and boost, then tune it..The thing would most likely go 11's with stock drivability and exhaust..Whats not to like about that?? Unless you like all the noise lol.

you would still need injectors to support the newfound air.
