My EVO9 is stock engine, stock head (never been off). We did "sneak" the ARP headstuds in there when installing the FP4R cams.

Stock intake manifold, stock upper IC pipes. Stock air intake pipe with non stock MAF meter and open element filter. It has 850cc injectors and a 342 fuel pump. Stock fuel lines and regulator. It has a Buschur race FMIC (you gotta have one of the these, especially in Texas), and a scratch built lower IC pipe. It has a 3" Works O2 housing and 3" DP and exhaust system, no cat. It has a exedy twin ceramic clutch (the HD one). It has a stock unported exhaust manifold, and a unported turbine housing. The turbo is the FP EVORed model of course.

I have since replaced the stock valve springs with our beehive style springs after noticing that the stock springs were sagging out after 15k miles on the 4R's with a daily 8500rpm rev limit and countless trips to that rev limiter.

The ECU is motec M800, but the ignition system is stock. Lots of stock parts. I like stock parts, I like popping the hood after those low 11 second passes and having people walk up and look really confused. BTW, I got 31mpg in that car on the way too and from the track, and it did even better a few days later on another trip, 37mpg.
Actually it was just under 36 MPG @ 70 MPH going to the dirt track. Also the EGR is still functional.

Dyno runs were made in a H-O-T dyno room, avg. boost was closer to 26 PSI, peak TQ was 400-410 and peak HP was 465-470 @ 8K, 3rd gear, DJ 224, you exaggerator.

On a lousy 1.83 60 ft. Needs driver mod.

Oh, and if y'all want to split hairs, technically it *is* pump gas, EPA approved for sale at a public conveyance 100 UL. Drive into the big Mobil station in Van Alstyne TX, slide CC, fill 'er up.

If y'all want to play with fire here in the heat of summer with 93 octane fuel and no knock control, go for it. It is plain stupid when this stuff is available down the street for 15-20 dollars more per tank than 93.

So you are saying roberts runs where on 100 octane or better ? If so that is something Robert has failed to mention so far, unless I missed that post.

If you want to start something, just start it, don't hint around.

Once you pass a car under power or go thru the gears quick from a stop your fuel mileage goes into the toilet. Most people do not have the right foot discipline required to get good fuel mileage. It takes no more fuel to keep an EVO rolling at 65-70 MPH as it does a Geo Metro of the same weight, rolling resistance, drivetrain friction, and cD.

I thought it was an honest question? If you (and or Robert) are running 100 octane, I think it would be important to mention that.

As a small business owner I try to practice time efficiency. Time > mpg for me. It's true anyone can coast their way to work. I need to get stuff done.

I'm averaging ~5mpg since I bought the car...but get ~3mpg when I'm out at the rally track.
