That would be high 10's & low 11's on the stock turbo.

I couldnt agree more, I didnt understand either. Then I went to the track a few weeks ago and watched a handfull of EVO and DSM guys run on a "fun night" at the track. Turns out not everyone is a drag race pilot. Launching, shifting well, watching shift points, staging, it gets really overwhelming for people that do not do it everyday.

What a car "should do" and what it "does" are often not the same, and lots of times it has nothing to do with the car

I made 3 passes in my own EVO9 with the FP EVORed a few weeks ago. First was a dumb foot on the clutch pedal and aborted 15 sec at 60mph. Second a 11.6 at one twenty something ( hot lapped after the first pass) then 30 min or so of cool down and another pass netted a 11.3 at 124mph. Boost was 25psi, car weight was 3325 with my fat *** in the car.

Robert,

Have you ever put your personal evo 9 on the dyno? Wondering about when full boost hit on pump gas. The Red keeps looking better

25psi is what I would be running with the Red.

Ok, I'll scan it and post it up tomorrow.

My EVO9 is stock engine, stock head (never been off). We did "sneak" the ARP headstuds in there when installing the FP4R cams.

Stock intake manifold, stock upper IC pipes. Stock air intake pipe with non stock MAF meter and open element filter. It has 850cc injectors and a 342 fuel pump. Stock fuel lines and regulator. It has a Buschur race FMIC (you gotta have one of the these, especially in Texas), and a scratch built lower IC pipe. It has a 3" Works O2 housing and 3" DP and exhaust system, no cat. It has a exedy twin ceramic clutch (the HD one). It has a stock unported exhaust manifold, and a unported turbine housing. The turbo is the FP EVORed model of course.

I have since replaced the stock valve springs with our beehive style springs after noticing that the stock springs were sagging out after 15k miles on the 4R's with a daily 8500rpm rev limit and countless trips to that rev limiter.

The ECU is motec M800, but the ignition system is stock. Lots of stock parts. I like stock parts, I like popping the hood after those low 11 second passes and having people walk up and look really confused. BTW, I got 31mpg in that car on the way too and from the track, and it did even better a few days later on another trip, 37mpg.

Robert or anyone else who knows/tunes,

I know that there may be many variables but I see where you were running 25PSI on your car with PUMP. On a evo8 with similar mods minus the MOTEC should i expect to be tuned around 25PSI on 93oct too? Great numbers too...

There isn't a major reason you couldn't be. The more efficient turbo helps out, as well as a nice big, efficient IC.

How many of these are on order now? Is this definitely a 2008 race season turbo, or might this go into the winter months (November and beyond) before the first round of production units is out?
