False knock, stock ecu, built motor
im facing false knock in my car .my mod r in my signature ...
but i use to see high knock only when im launching and when i hit rev limit ...
but i think its because of the vibration in my car and power fc reading high knock due to vibration ...
cud be wrong also ...

At some point I would love to see the build sheets on the engines/cars with built motors that experience false knock and the ones that don't. I wonder if any patterns would show up.
we have had this issue before on 2.3 motors..... even with balance shafts and fluiddampers...
my take comes down to tolerances in the bottom end on assembly....
we have had to tune cars over 3200rpm on the dyno and do what we thought was "right" for timing from 1800-3000 rpm where they would peg the sensor at 36....
hopefully the ecuflash patch will allow some adjustment... aem is an expensive alternative.

I'm hesitant to say that's always the case but I've tune quite a few of these cars and only a few exhibited true false knock that couldn't be quelled with less timing, more fuel or higher octane
