Stock Cat-back max power numbers
After 2 weeks , my new combo (DP,TP,stock cat back)
Sounds really good at idle, and high way speed its just righ .
But WOT is lacking to the point where its not as fun to drive fast .
What to do ?, I guess a cut/out or 3" cat back with more mufflers is next .

I'm in the same boat and ABSOLUTELY want stock noise level. Running for now the 3"MR DP and TP. Leaking between the TP and DP as the gasket doesn't seal good....
It seems that the double magnaflow option as the OP tried might be the best combo for flow and noise.
I know a guy in Toronto that sell the whole unit: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ca...aust-sale.html
I really want this exhaust but don't have the time to go get it.

I installed my stock catback but then took it off again. It absolutely ruined the performance of my car. The turbo spooled over 500 rpm later, had much higher EGTs and lost a very noticeable SOTP amount of power. It was quiet but the price was way too high in performance.

I'm curious about the resonators on the stock intermediate pipe. Are those straight flow through perforated design by factory or are they restrictive with louvered internals or chambers.
I run a 3" DP and TP with the stock catback until I have a track day then I mount up a cheap EBAY 3" exhaust.
With the stock catback I notice an increase in spool. Once up to full boost there isn't "that" much of a difference in power. I suspect the impact would be greater if you were moving more air than the stock turbo moves.
I also notice on/off throttle inputs are more sensitve with the stock exhaust.

JB at ER did a BBK set up with a stock cat back and a cut out and IIRC the cut out was worth 15-18 WHP over the stock cat back @ 400 WHP.
I just put on my stock cat back last night and I really like it , it transformed my car from a kids car to a grown ups car in one night

Just ad a few passes today and the gasket between the DP and test pipe is completely done. Almost straight pipe sound as it doesn't seal. A lot more top end. It gives me and idea that I like it but HATTTTTTTTTEEEE the sound.
Somebody as a trick for the gasket between the TP and DP, because the DP is 3" the gasket lets air between the 3"DP and the stock cat back, not very good design for this....
