help severe knockout

so my car has a built trans and a fidanza clutch and redline fluids, i took it out for a spirited run today and it grinds in 3rd (sometimes) and when going into 5th gear at 7500rpm it grinds so bad and wont even go into 5th its a lockout or whatever. i am so pissed spent so much $$$ on trans rebuild 3,000 miles ago and now it is grinding? help and suggestions thanks.

You can try adjusting the clutch rod out a little see if that helps

In reading this I thought it odd that you wrote the following recently " i have the 2.1 (shop didnt have 3.2 when i needed it badly) over iam impressed with Fidanza no lock out's, my ACT had horrible knockouts"

In this thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...53#post6264753

Wrote this in another "i lost in alot of races because of the ACT MB7-HDSS (high RPM knockout) switched to a new fidanza doesnt happen no more"

In this thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...72#post6264672

FWIW as the others on this thread have said your problem can most likely be fixed with an adjustment.

The only time an adjustment won't fix it is if the parts are warped from too much heat and if their is insufficient airgap to allow the pressure plate to release the disc (which is want causes lock out). It makes no sense that the clutch would work fine and then all of a sudden lock you out of gears.

If you follow the procedure in that video you should be fine.....unless the clutch was overheated to the point that no amount of adjustment will fix it. Good luck.

I think that ACT was just trying to say that their clutch would most likely have worked fine if it were adjusted properly.(if it wasn't). My ACT is notchy into second and third but no lockout. I'm going to adjust it and possibly replace the rubber line / pill with a SS piece. GL with the clutch.
