evo 8 tubular k member.. whos making one
The factory steel k-member is very, very heavy if you ask me. A tubular one would probably offer significant weight savings (as well as better geometry for lowered cars). As a side note, I'd thought I'd mention that Whiteline offers a roll center correction kit for lowered cars that changes the attachment point of the control arm to the hub (instead of the attachment point at the k-member) which works very well for road racing/track purposes.
I keep seeing pictures of Drag Hondas on their roofs at 160+mph in my mind when the chromoly A-Arms from Competition Engineering snapped...
If done correctly, this would be an awesome product.
If not done correctly...yikes...

back from the dead because I have a good friend working on this for me
As I get info or at least when he wants to release info I will share what we have come up with. Lets pray to the evo Gods

I have one being made. Finding a donor K member was the hard part. One was found, but it ended up being tweaked. Another one has been found and should be in transit to the shop. They are looking into provisions for everything that has been talked about-lowering points, wider track, etc. It will take a little time, but it is 100% in the works. When I am allowed to post pics I will. We are in the very beginning stages so not much to report. BUt I am super excited about this part, thats why I mentioned it.

Yes, I ended up buying a brand new K member so we would have a perfect donor. It was coming from Washington so it is still a few days out
Mike at AWDMOTORSPORTS was kind enough to order it and pay half. Very cool for a vendor I think to step in and help out like that. It will be jigged as soon as they receive it. Then provisions for autox guys etc will be considered. For now I am thinking the lightweight chromoly stock location K will be the priority
