Coil over plug ignition are they worth it?

Are they worth the money? Some people say yes others say no. I have met members on here who say "COPS all the way" and I have also ran across some making well over 600 whp on stock ignition with gapped down plugs who would never go COPS. Please give me your opinion as I am thinking of getting rid of my COPS. New build will make about 650 WHP.

Why would you get rid of it when you already have it? You won't find a user getting rid of a C.O.P. just adding them. Out of all these positive threads, I dont see why ditching it would even be a question.

I was having problems with my stock ignition when I maxed out the stock turbo. Once I installed the SparkTech CDI the problem went away... You will get tons of opinions though. Some will say yes, some will say no. I think it is vital to any quality build.

I met a guy on this forum making 700 whp and all he did was gapped down to 19 on the stock ignition. I was thinking if it doesn't make any more power than gapping down why not put the money on some other mods. Also I had an ignition problem this year cylinder 2 & 3 would intermittantly cut out. It was a pain trouble shooting as AEM would blame the COP and vice versa. I just want to keep it simple if it does not add more power or make my car more reliable why have it.

COP makes timing more reliable which is why they tend to make a little more power than induction systems. You already have a COP though so getting rid of it is just taking a loss on the money spent so keep it.

I only suggest not getting one until you need it if you do not own one. That kind of commentary doesn't apply to you because you already own one.
