oh my CAT!

Question about puttin my cat back in temporarily for inspection. I have a full exhaust on the car and have to put my cat back in. Is that going to hurt anything or change anything being as though my cars been tuned with the test pipe in. Once I get my inspection done it'll come back out.

It won't hurt anything, you'll just have the slower spool and boost will be about 4-5 lbs less than what you're tuned for. Just make sure your cat is heated up before inspection (if you have to run a sniffer test).

its not gonna affect the car at all TECHNICALLY. you could safely run it, so dont worry. where i get inspected its strictly OBDII. so all that means is it is BASically the same thing as if your car was throwing a CEL because of the test pipe. the car knows that the rear o2 is not reading correctly and so throws an "not ready" (i believe its called) which the person who inspects it would then use to pass or fail you. but up in pa i think you can still pass the test with this ^. i believe we have 7 "checks". you have to have like 4 or 5 out of the seven to pass. so i think you can pass if your only issue is the rear o2. i dont consider myself an expert on this so i could just be talking out of my ***. this is just from what i have come to understand so dont rip my head off if im completely wrong

If it's just an OBII check and they don't use a sniffer then you can use the patches/ROM changes here on the forums to bypass the rear o2. Then you don't even need to stick your cat back on.

Also, if you have an OBDII scanner, make sure that you have no CEL codes. If you do clear them, drive about 70 miles to reset the drive cycle.

i had to pass inspection, with a "cat below eff" code. Just goto auto zone and get something called an spark plug defouler. Drill a 1/2" hole into one of them. Screw them together and put on ur rear o2 sensor. Search it up, theres a bunch of threads about it.
