MAPerformance BS
OP, please post of picture of the "entire" kit on the scale and show us some proof. By the looks of it, MAP has done everything in their power to help you out. Have you contacted your shipping carrier or no? I have ordered things from them in the past and I am proud to be one of their customers.
P.S.- You are older than 18 I am hoping......take care of your own matters.

A well respected vendor who has gone above and beyond for many customers already(search) ships you out a clutch AND flywheel weighing in at 34lbs.
Fed Ex ship out a clutch and it is signed for at 34lbs.
Then you come on here and say it is missing the flywheel. You tell us it weighs 22.8 lbs.
How a package loses 11lbs in shipping is what is confusing all of us.
The odds are kinda stacked against you in the court of law.
As for the rust....
Do any of you guys own tools? When the heater in our shop broke and it got cold out, most of my tools started to show minor surface rust. Not sure if the material is the same, or if you can even apply that to this application, but it's a thought to ponder. GL.
I ordered a exedy twin HD from them thursday morning. We agreed on getting a new Exedy twin HD with flywheel and throw bearing and everything. I get the part yesterday and opened it up right off the bat noticed it was scratched and used and their was no flywheel in the package. Now I called back to see if I possibly got someone return or something and they telling me that I pulled that out of my evo and trying to send them back that part and scam them. I have never had an aftermarket clutch in my car ever. It still has the stock POS clutch in it. So 1400 bucks later and a screwed up clutch im down both ways. What do you guy think i should do. I planned on getting a lawyer and go from there.
only daddy's boys do stuff like that you cannot even handle stuff on your own
I wonder if pops will post on here too? Seriously - 12 lbs went missing, OP. You or your dad should contact the shipping company. Best of luck getting anywhere with them since their label also reads 34lbs.
rust could also be a sign of waterjet. If a piece doesn't need to be "finished" to be functional then it could have been sanded/grinded to a certain point but considered functional per spec.
I agree contact shipping company. I work for a shipping company
and sometimes boxes do come open, coming down slides and belts. Most of the time, its the auto parts that split open, and stuff does get lost, or found further down the line. This could explain the scratches. And not everything is found right away, or is know to go in a certain box, so something else could have been misplaced (flywheel).
So, CONTACT THE SHIPPING COMPANY!

He's right.
MAP shipped you a box weighing 34lbs.
You signed for a box that weighed 34lbs.
MAP is now kinda out of the picture.
Hate to say it, I always check ALL my packages PRIOR to the delivery guy leaving. And I ask politely if they would wait for a second while I check my package. It's never a problem.
As opposed to trying to work this out with MAP, ( which I am sure they would have done all they can to make it right) you try and drag their name through the mud.
I'm not sure how inclined I would be to help you out after all this BS>

Could it be possible that the parcel company is being shady too? It has been known to happen. Like everyone said take it up with the parcel company if that leads you nowhere then call the credit card company. But as for MAP they did their jobs in a respectful manner.
BTW did I mention I hate FedEX

the friction surfaces show signs of heat, looks used to me. The clutch is missing it's ring gear. the ring gear tends to beat up the flat cardboard inserts in the box, you should be able to tell if there ever was a ring gear in that box.
the shipping weight shown on the website is a shipper defined number. Doesn't prove anything to me. Contact fedex and see if they actually weighed it in transit.
i've had packages that were returned for being overweight (over fedex's maximum shipping weight) even though the website said they were 5lbs underweight.

I've dealt with MAP many times, especially with Adam and Carey and I've never had an issue. Great people, awesome customer service...
I know for sure Carey did not hire any thieves in his shop and Carey is the president of his company, he probably has Exedy twin disk on all his rides and his Go-cart....
A man of his caliber takes pride in his company he started, why screw up now? Not the case here...
Check your local Carrier!
MAP did what they could and shipped you what you bought. Either something went wrong in transit (in which case your issue is with the shipping company, this is why you get insurance on packages and open the box before signing for it) or you're not telling the truth.
