Not always true, it's not the slicks that breaks it. It's the torque that breaks it. Build it to be stronger and withhold the hp/tq you throw at it..

Slorice, you make the BEST speadsheets! haha Nice job once again.

I do not agree at all on the tire information just given.

The quickest times and MPH we've ever seen produced are on the M/T 17" slicks we run, nothing else even comes close in ET or MPH.

As for breakage, the best way to break is wheel hop, I rarely ever see anything break running slicks. If you want to keep the car in one piece, run slicks.

Again read what I said, key part you have to have the rubber to hook up. A certain point drag radials no longer hook up with out some kind of spinnage.

May also apply to type of vehicle, awd vs rwd vs fwd..

Here's just something good to read.

@ EVO8GIXX : Thank u for the Link buddy ... Forget to mention ... That here we haven't Drag Strip ... So all the Race are on Closed Road or Street Racing ... That why My question is the tires On ASPHALT = Not the same grip like the Drag Strip ...

Any updates to this project?

Also David i have a sort of off topic question. I know you recommend the new BR Intake Manifold for the 2.0, 2.1 blocks. What kind of intake manifold would you recommend for the 2.4 block.

From BR site:
For optimimum performance we recommend this intake be ran on cars making 550whp or more. If you're below 550whp our ported stock intake manifold will be your best choice

Here is a spreadsheet I made showing RPM vs Gear vs MPH for both final drives. This is with a 255/40/17 tire that I am currently running. I also have a set of 245/45/17 tires that I will most likely use at the dragstrip, so they are a little taller and will help out on the big end.

ps - how you like THIS spreadsheet David??

What about 3.73 final drive? I know the chart (which is badass by the way) is laid out for drag racing and 5th gear won't be used, but your saying if you rev to 9k in 5th the evo can go over 200mph with these ratios?
