Sloppy shifter?
I have an 03 Evo 8 and the shifter is really slopy when in gear and sometimes I have problems getting into second, the sloppyness occured after the clutch was done, is there and easy fix for these problems?
start with a clutch pedal adjustment, heres how

if that doesnt work then you need to look under your hood above the transmission and make sure the hardline section of your clutch cables are actually secured (there is a bracket on the hardline that is supposed to be screwed into the top of the transmission)
heres a pic of what im talking about:

if that doesnt work than you can turn to the aftermarket:

if your going to swap your clutch lines, you will need to bleed them, heres how:
edit: the link i posted previously was obsolete. this is the most relevant data i have found in regards to bleeding the clutch line:
if you want to take it a step further:
polyurethane transmission mount:

i could not find an install guide for the transmission mount. however, here is an install guide for the front motor mount. the procedure is similar.

install tip: to avoid the necessity of a press in order to remove the stock rubber insert from the mount, simply take a rather large drill bit and drill through the rubber several times to make it more plyable (otherwise your can just push all you like, that insert isnt going anywhere). then use WD-40 and elbow grease/flat head screw drivers to dislodge the rubber insert from the mount (note: this is applicable to dislodging rubber engine mount inserts as well).
hope this helps

Have you tried bleeding it and don't seem to be making any progress? Well, here you go! Bleeding the clutch line is not a difficult procedure, however, we even had some issues initially getting the one in the Evo 8 bled properly. Unlike most cars where you can simply begin the bleeding process and just add fluid to the brake fluid reservoir as needed during the process, the Evo 8 brake fluid reservoir must be "over filled" to even get started. Failure to do so can have you pumping nothing but air indefinitely.

before we jump to any conclusions, this may be the result of improper installation and adjustment. i would seek out a professional diagnosis before turning to the aftermarket.
everyone who has ever done some reading, or talked to a professional knows better than to launch these cars. the results can be catostrophic. its not impossible to launch this car. just illadvised.
look at this quote i found from Top Gear when they tested the evo:
this just goes to show you that even mitsubishi knew that the professionals would have trouble getting the evo to launch right.

this will not correct user error, but it will repair any damage that you may have caused do to abuse

I broke my 5 speed and sent it to shep, before I had some slop in the transmission I tried metal under hood shifter bushings and that helped. Once I received my shep transmission I also installed metal shifter base bushings and that significantly helped. My shifter is now nice and tight. I call it perfect.

Get a front motor mount, underhood shifter bushings, shifter base bushings, and a short-shifter if you're really feeling saucy. All of these works work together to help make the shifter nice and precise, I did everything possible to make my Evo shifter feel just as good as the one on my S2000 and I'm very happy with it now. You can also complete the package with driveshaft and rear differential bushings. Check post # 2 in the link below for all the info you'll need on these parts:
